CBN mounted points are diamond grinding points that have a coating of cubic boron nitride (CBN) on them. The CBN coating makes the points very hard, so they can be used to grind very hard materials. 

The points are mounted on a tool holder, and the tool holder is then attached to a machine that spins it. The spinning of the tool holder causes the points to grind the material that they are in contact with.
