Hello from my first time riding in snow ☃️🧊🏍 Everyone asks me if I’m scared traveling by myself? I used to be, but sometimes the biggest fears live inside us. Looking back at these photos and videos, I can laugh at myself crying, but during this ride I was so scared, nervous and anxious. This was probably one of the top stressful riding days I’ve had in my life. At least when I first rode dirt, I had my friend Dan to walk me through things, but this time, I had so many questions that I couldn’t ask anyone. Do dirt rules apply here? I don’t have spikes and have knobbies, are these good enough? Do I ride on the crunchy ice or flattened snow? If my tire slips, do I brake or put more weight on the back tire? I had no idea. So what did I do? I cried all the way down the mountain in first gear and self soothed myself by telling myself “This is scary, but I can do it.” Yeah that’s how I get through hard stuff. Name the fear and encourage myself. Tears for me also relieve the stress my body is going through. Check out my stories for Crystal in fear.
