Day 6 of learning to draw people. Here is the 6th and last wife of Henry VIII, Catherine Parr. Catherine's mother, Maude Green was one of the ladies in waiting to Henry's 1st wife, Catherine of Aragon, and was named after the Spanish Queen, who was her godmother. Catherine was a unique woman for her time. She was an author, twice published, and also twice widowed when she married Henry, but she had her heart set on another man, but she couldn't exactly say no to the King, but they did have a good relationship with Henry, even though they did have one hiccup with the topic of religion, because she was a staunch Protestant, but she talked her way out of being arrested, insisting that she wanted to hear Henry's opinion on the matter. She serves as a nurse companion for the aging King, and shortly before he died, she talked him into reconciliation with his daughters, Mary and Elizabeth and restored them to the succession, after being deemed illegitimate, and was especially close to the Princess Elizabeth. Shortly after Henry's death, she finally married the man she originally loved, Thomas Seymour, the late Queen Jane Seymour's brother, but he broke her heart when he tried to seduce Princess Elizabeth, who was 14 at the time. I feel for Catherine because she had 3 previous marriages, but the one that she genuinely loved, ended up not being true to her. So far, the first week into the New Year, I decided on the 6 wives of the infamous King Henry VIII, to kick off learning how to draw people. These were only a few drafts, as I honestly feel like they look better that way, I will at some point turn them into paintings. After this, whenever I have another sketch ready, I will share it on here and save it to my portfolio. Thank you guys for the feedback, I appreciate it! #catherineparr #tudordynasty #henryviii #drawing https://www.instagram.com/p/CnFqMyAu2mZ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
