26.07.19 ~ Hey everyone, it’s been a while!
Last month I’ve finished my first year of this masters program in Publishing I got in. It was a complete change compared to my years as a Philosophy undergrad: small class, lots of hours, practical things to learn, group assignments. Overall I’m happy with how it’s going, although I didn’t always commit myself 100% and I want to work harder.
I have a project to complete for next month where I have to simulate the job of a foreign rights manager working on young adult books: basically I have to do research and pretend to negotiate YA titles (of all genres) with UK, US and French publishers (tbr is getting longer and longer). I really want to do my best since it would be my dream job, but it’s not easy to stay motivated while on summer holidays - most days I end up only watching a lot of series. Starting from tomorrow I’ll put together a serious daily routine so hopefully I’ll be more productive!

Sometimes, you see or hear of something that sets you back. Maybe that setback isn’t physical, but mental, or emotional. Maybe you feel lesser for having been told it.
I think that it’s good to remember who you are in that given moment. It’s good to know what you’ve accomplished and to keep your mind set on your goals. Rejection from someone or something is never what is wanted but may sometimes be what is needed. You are not lesser for being seen as less than perfect.
Knowledge is a seed. Passion and love is at the root of all things. Bloom and grow, Edelweiss.
