when cat pledged himself to the alliance to take down kaido, the first person he thought of to ask for help was marco and he knew exactly where to find him. when he arrived, marco spoke about whitebeard's past on sphinx. you really get the impression that cat and marco trust&rely on each other. the anime even put in cat wrapping his tail behind marco to comfort him when he shed a few tears over his pops.

Ace would’ve been totally ecstatic about meeting two of Pops’ former crewmates who happen to be old friends with Izou and Oden’s retainers. He’d squeal “Kitty!” or “Puppy!” in delight upon first meeting them. He’d sit there looking starry-eyed as the two of them told him stories of their adventures alongside Whitebeard and Roger. He likes to hug Viper, jump on his belly like a trampoline, or climb on his belly and fall asleep on him because he’s big, round, fluffy, and squishy. He’ll spend hours entertaining Viper with cat toys (yarn balls, catnip, teaser wands) and watch him chase them back and forth trying to catch them like a kitten. They’ll share a huge meal of lasagna, and Viper would try to teach Ace how to cook Oden’s special oden recipe. One of his favorite activities with Dogstorm is to scratch his belly or behind his ears and watch Dogstorm unconsciously thump his leg in contentment. He also likes to play fetch with Dogstorm, and Dogstorm will instinctively chase after what Ace throws, no matter how much he tries to resist or protest that it makes him look undignified.

Ace would spend hours telling them about Luffy and they both listen intently. They secretly think it’s adorable that Ace has so much love for this hyperactive little bouncy ball he calls his kid brother.
