O. One Book That You Have Read Multiple Times

I DEVOURED Twilight in middle school (no pun intended). 

I was twelve. It had literally just come out and nobody had heard of it yet; I saw the cover at the book fair and it caught my attention so I impulsively bought it. I read it at our lunch table (I even remember my exact seat, the exact sweater I was wearing reading this for the first time) and my friends teased me about it. I read it on the bus on the way home. I read it every night after that and kept tally marks in my journal of how many times I read the book. I got to 64 before I stopped counting and started to realize that I didn’t actually like the book at all - what I liked was this idea, and the potential that it had. Before all the other ones came out, when the story just stopped there, I would sit up at night and think about ways it could continue. What Came Next. I think this was my first introduction into writing fan fiction. I didn’t even know that’s what I was doing at the time.

The cover of my paperback copy of Twilight had long since fallen off and torn by the time I finally set it down for the last time. Ten years later I can’t remember a single line from the book.

(I did save that copy though. I just couldn’t bring myself to throw it out.)
