Well, in terms of personality, Death is fairly consistent in the few games where he has a speaking role and an active role in the plot lol. Automatically I like him the best in Harmony of Dissonance, with his "I really hate relying on a Belmont for the sake of my master but fine we'll be strenuous allies for now" attitude towards Juste and Curse of Darkness when he acts as the deliciously slimy priest Zead lol (which Hector apparently finds the most trustworthy person in Wallachia, because my good man went to the same school of learning how to judge people's character as Silver)

So for him I'll just rank his designs :P

5) Legends:

I don't care that it's not canon. He looks like a ninja. Your argument is invalid.

4) Harmony of Dissonance

love that he's pink in-game, because even the Grim Reaper has the right to feel pretty. (the only reason Juste agreed to accept his help.) Overall, a simple but good take on the iconic design.

3) Curse of Darkness:

Sadly there's not a better image of his true form, given that he spends most of the game as Zead. Something about the tattoos (?) on his skull makes him look particularly combat-ready and menacing.

2) Symphony of the Night:

Iconic. Similar to the HoD one, but the checkered pattern is visually more interesting. No don't ask me why he has a kid in this art.

1) Lament of Innocence:

ohhhhhhh now we're taking, now this is a bitchin' design! Fitting as Death is the final boss of this game <3 there's so much detail on his hood, and his schythe, and even the way the robe pools at his feet (?).
