In 6th grade, I discovered the Beautiful Creatures series and the main protagonist (Ethan Lawson Wate) is like a 6’4 basketball player and for several years I also wanted to be 6’4 so I could tower over my classmates and my enemies. The white boy who died twice because of his witch girlfriend (who literally, and I mean literally, gives him a fucking heart attack every time they kissed bc he’s just a good ole mortal Southern boy), sassed out the stuck-up girlypops at his school, and babysat a whiny ass Siren was so gender to me.

This floor lamp, measuring little more than a foot tall and equipped with wheels for mobility, screams for a radical space and a departure from modern living.
