i love jamie campbell bower SO much because it's like "oh my god vecna is soooo scary boo scary evil big scary man" and you show any picture of jamie and he's just the most unthreatening majestic twink in a dress
Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, and Joe Keery rank all of the Stranger Things hairstyles
arlance is real and bradley james made it WORSE actually
because what do you mean:
âin some legends⌠lancelot was in love with arthur, and because he couldnât have him, he turned his attentions to guinevere, because that was the only piece of arthur he could have.â
like iâm sorry????????
that is not a casual fun fact to drop in an interview. that is a weapon. that is a man reaching across adaptations and going âby the way, if you read this a certain way, it all lines up.â
because now you have to go back and rewatch everything with that in your head and suddenly lancelotâs devotion stops looking general and starts looking specific.
the way he attaches himself to camelot isnât just about ideals, itâs about arthur. the way he never oversteps, never demands, never asks for more than heâs givenâit reads less like humility and more like restraint.
gwen stops being just âthe woman he lovesâ and starts being the closest he can get.
which is actually insane when you think about it for more than two seconds because it reframes his entire emotional arc into something so much more devastating: not replacement. not second choice. proximity.
he loves gwen, yesâbut thereâs this undercurrent of she is part of arthurâs world, arthurâs future, arthurâs heart, and loving her is a way of staying connected to that.
and the show never says this. it never confirms it. it gives you just enough plausible deniability to ignore it if you want to but then bradley james just says that. and suddenly the subtext isnât just subtext anymore, itâs supported reading.
and it makes the restraint between arthur and lancelot feel even more unbearable
because if that reading is even slightly true, then lancelotâs whole thing isnât just âi will serve you, i will follow you, i will believe in youâ
itâs âi will take whatever version of closeness you allow me, even if itâs not the one i want

If you're suffering from TVL ending and need more content, may I suggest some great YT channels to follow
Autumn Brown - the lore is that she was just a fan making little videos, and she made a 1-hour, slightly crazed deep dive into the teaser for IWTV S2, Jacob Anderson found it, sent it to Rolin Jones, they talked, and now she gets to do what's essentially the companion podcast that S1 one had.
Watch for the great interviews with cast and crew, questions that you won't get anywhere else, plus some fun and dramatic reactions! (If you've seen the clip of Sam having an existential crisis about if he's a natural blonde or not, that's from one of her interviews)
The Articulate Coven - Joel and Ashley have been fans since the beginning; they were teens reading VC in the 80s! They are huge book fans, they were there for a lot of Anne's nonsense. They are NOT book purists, though they have their opinions. Watch them to connect with other book fans and get into discussing those, learn about Anne and some of the drama behind the adaptations, get insight on New Orleans, and if you start from the beginning (audio only), you'll witness Joel's coming out journey as a bonus.
I See Melanie - Melanie is a show-only fan from Toronto. Although she has learned a little bit of the book stuff, it's fun watching someone who has no idea what might happen next. Her videos tend to be on the shorter side (30-40min), and they are focused on either reaction or analysis. Watch for very thoughtful reactions and commentary, I especially like how she analyses family dynamics, and some insight on the filming of TVL in Toronto.
Badd Medicine - Purely a reaction channel, 3 burly dudes react to drama queen gay vamps, what more do you need to know? Watch for experienced and professional reaction content, big reactions, grumpy chatter, and surprisingly poignant and thoughtful discussions on abuse, trauma, and relationships. Also, one of them really hates Armand, and it's just funny watching him react to what Armand gets up to.
Khadija Mbowe - Khadija has been making video essays on pop culture, internet culture, feminism, racism, and other topics for years. She's smart, witty, and has a very energetic and slightly chaotic persona. She's had a reaction channel for only a little while, and so far has only reacted to The Vampire Lestat, though she has seen previous seasons. I've only watched a couple of her videos, but they are very fun, high-energy, big reactions, and she will call everyone out for their bullshit. Watch her other stuff too!
