Mirage Casey would steal a gun off a fucker to use on the fucker's allies. He'd put on a supersuit if he had access to one. He's the one who suggested that Don take the mecha he made to the vampire fight in Northampton. He sets up a trap for the vampires in NYC with wereRaph and mechaDon for the turts to get any vamps that try to escape him.
87 Casey was 100% Fuck Yeah about having those electrical powers. Man keeps sledgehammers, harpoons, and swords in his golfbag he is very much all over whatever he can get his hands on to fight with.
We even kinda see it with 03 Casey going out of his way to get actual martial arts training and upgrading his vigilante gear to basicly street superhero levels.
shit! Even the Power Rangers crossover Cassey Jones joining Rita Repulsa for ranger power and a chance to betray her ass and fuck over her and Krang's plans. Pragmatic bastard will take whatever he gets the opportunity to take.
Casey Jones whole heartedly embraces any edge he can get.
[which makes IDW reboot Casey not shooting up with more nostrum even knowing it's made out of people when he's in a situation where he needs an edge and his current dose was wearing off make less sense to me… but then again the reboot Casey is one of the least Casey-ish Casey Joneses I've seen]

No but like 100% Casey Jones would pull a gun on a fucker if he has access to one ['Fun with Guns' and 'Hun'], he just doesn't own any guns. He is perfectly willing to steal guns off the opps and turn them on them.
Sidenote, Casey would also wear a supersuit if he had one on hand ['Fun with Guns']. He's not opposed to souping his shit up if there's shit he can find/steal and use, he just doesn't really think ahead.
Casey Jones being an opportunistic as hell dirty fighter is kinda just his thing.
