     IF THEY’D BEEN friends in another life, and doing anything remotely close to this — jesper is willing to bet the clothes on his back that they’d died together doing something equally as foolhardy.  as he lifts her on the palm of one hand, up and close to the enormous painting hanging on the lavish apartment wall, jesper wonders if their old - life foes had thought to be more careful about where they hid their safes.  it was just too easy to look behind ornate paintings and find family jewels and grimoires locked in little hideyholes.

     THIS IS WHAT he gets for sitting down — apparently other people could actually reach his forehead.  he’s far from annoyed, though; he’d been sitting in silence, completely overwhelmed and not sure as to why his brain was trying to scatter itself to all four winds.  then, the barest press of something warm against his forehead breaks through the fog in his mind.  blinking, startled but recovering himself without showing it — jesper offers up a smile.

genuinely can’t remember if i already replied to this but it doesn’t matter because every single time i’ve scrolled past this message in my inbox the dumbest, goofiest smile appeared on my face —— i LOVE this girl squad, tiny army of fiercely loving women, i would absolutely die for them. i’ve screamed about this at lyn a good amount of times, but perhaps the biggest pain in fred’s life is the loss of the relationship she had with her sister, extremely close right until they weren’t —— for her to have found the same chemistry with moa and patty (and i’m also gonna tag @carelessgraces​ in this too because astoria too is fred’s sister and all this applies to her as well) is unbelievable for me, it makes me so fucking happy, you guys have no idea ♥♥♥

          " FOGGY'S GONNA REGRET NOT BEING HERE, " is all Matt can say when Astoria walks through the door of Nelson & Murdock, stuck behind a mountain of braille files on his desk. Admittedly, the blind man looks a little more frazzled than he's ever been, hair a mess & dark circles blooming like menacing shadows under his eyes. Not to mention the few bruises & little cuts that kiss his skin in areas that "I walked into a door," really don’t cut it, but prying is known to be the wrong move with a Murdock man. " Every time you come around, he misses you by a second. You should really call him, " he suggests offhandedly, voice husky from lack of use & sleep. He's been here since last night. No, it wasn't the caffeine keeping him going, but the pain from the beating he took last night, along with the knowledge that this case was being brought to court far sooner than he had realized — or maybe he'd just forgotten. He's been doing that lately.

       it’s a topic that shouldn’t be brushed off so lightly — not when there is so much at stake, too much for everyone to lose — but when you’ve had as many brushes with death as elena, well, the concept starts to become less terrifying and vague and more concrete and certain. death is inevitable — at least, for someone like her it is. there are other ways, of course, ones that she’s seen up close. some would say that vampires are blessed with eternal life, others would say cursed, but elena finds herself at the middle of that scale, still certain in her knowledge that she can’t cheat death forever. it is an option for some. not for her. not right now. and if death is the answer to the problem that’s been facing them as of late, well, she’d walk toward its familiar embrace with certainty if her sacrifice would save those closest to her.

     JESPER BLINKS AT HER blearily, one hand shielding his eyes from the light glaring it’s way through the cracks in the shutters.  he’s had hangovers worse than this, to be sure, but they usually don’t last quite this long.  if he weren’t sure that he never got sick a day in his life, he’d be worried.  very worried.
