Morning walk yesterday I happen upon this rather large wolf spider. She kept hiding (well, she thought she was!) if I got too close. She was easily 1.5" or more in length with interesting dots on her abdomen. Upon closer inspection, I realize she is Ubering an entire family of spiderlings! Fascinating to see, but I’m not sure I want her in my house when they all jump off! Fun fact: female wolf spiders are the only spider that carries their young on their bodies. I visited downtown Fort Worth on Tuesday for a new place to walk. I wasn’t expecting to find it so empty at 2PM on a workday. Sundance Square, normally full on a vacation week, was blocked off for holiday decorating that is usually completed. Daisy and I walked and walked and walked today in the cool, misty air. I think we both needed it. We started at Press Cafe and followed the Trinity River until we reached Tim Love’s Woodshed Smokehouse (about 4.5 miles RT) before turning around.
