some downtime. what to do in it? something interesting, she’d
been thinking to do once she got started with her daily business.
she knew what she could do and once she was given the OK that
all her work she had to tend to was over and done with, the woman
left the room she was in and went immediately down a certain path
through her ark.
guards stood in her way at the door of where she wished to enter
and they stood aside when they recognized she wished to step
aside. the woman nodded and they were dismissed to the side and
the condesce stepped into the room, turning out to be the holding
cells for all the surviving pets she’s kept, which necessarily was just
a small handful, enough to count on her fingers.
stepping past empty cell after empty cell, she eventually stumbled
past handy’s cell door. a small smile curls on her fuchsia lips, a hand
extending out and brushing against it. it was a time where most everyone,
if they didn’t have work to attend to, were sleeping. that means all her
pets do too. she didn’t want to make much more noise than she already
was due to her heels clicking against the floor. her hand eventually
leaves the door and her smile leaves, a scowl replacing her expression
when her eyes shift from handy’s cell to the direction of her newest
pet’s door, feferi. a glance at handy’s then she walked to feferi’s door.
she just. looked at it, as if she were eye to eye with feferi herself. her
eyes squint just a bit in thought, muttering to herself.
“ you better be worth this effort. ” and she says nothing more. she’s there
for maybe a few more seconds and the condesce is quick to turn a heel
so that she may leave, the sounds of her heels fading from the spot she
was in, eventually ceasing and the only other noise sounding was the
door opening, then closing.
