I woke up yesterday morning and literally exclaimed out loud, "The Lemon Twigs have a new release!" I'll readily admit that it surprises me how much I love this band. But, I've seen them live three times, and I know that has had a huge effect on how I view them. I can't help but see the earnestness (and the leg kicks) when hearing the music.

So, while this is only a 7", it's still something to give thanks for. And while Brian and Michael D'Addario are still in their 1960s pop worship phase, their focus seems to have changed a bit to The Monkees and The Toms styled sound. The Byrds jangle is still all over the place, and the harmonies....the harmonies!

In 2021 Captured Tracks released Till Another Time: 1988-96, a collection of recordings by Baltimore musician Linda Smith. Culled from Smith’s trove of cassette recordings, this was the first time Smith’s music had been pressed to vinyl.

Bedroom recording has long held an allure, but that release was timely. Smith, trailblazer of home taping, was already known and loved in certain pockets, especially among DIY musicians. But Till Another Time connected with pandemic-era listeners, many of whom were exploring their own isolated musical setups.
