‘Feather on the Clyde’ by Passenger
Captain's Rest (Glasgow) • 29 July 2010
I wonder if Mike played this last night for the lucky folk of Glasgow?
Welcome to the Maple Leaves page!
Ahoy hoy, welcome to our brand spanking new Maple Leaves tumblr site!
Here will be the place for all things Maple, whether it's songs, videos, gig dates or even random maple syrup biscuit recipes (delish...)
As you can see, to the left we have a picture of our new Golden Ether E.P which will be launched by Bubblegum Records on Wednesday 20th October at The Captain's Rest in Glasgow.
You can buy a ticket from Bubblegum Records here.
Come along one and all! Â It would be lovely to see you, and did we mention there will be cake?
Love,
Maples xx
Wild Nothing at Captain's Rest
Wild Nothing delivers a punch of surf-aholic noise drenched garage music. Quick picked notes accentuate reverbed verses that make you bob along.
The band engages without talking, the lead (apparently, the band is actually mainly his project), Jack Tatum, barely spoke throughout the set, keeping it to an apology concerning this lack of talking at the end of the show. As well as apologizing for not having more songs at the end of the set when the audience called for an encore. The performance emphasized the music - dreamy, hooky, and catchy.Â
The opener that night was Barn Owl, who I wish I had a sample song of, because this is head bopping rocking. They're from Glasgow, and don't really seem to be bubbling onto making a big break, but they have a solid set of songs ready to toss at you when they do play, and you'll find yourself tapping your feet involuntarily.Â
