When Sisko punched Eddington for lying to him about the missiles, I couldn't help but imagine how the other protagonist captains of Star Trek would have handled that.
Kirk would have shoved him up against the wall, told him how he wants to punch him, but won't, because that kind of behavior is unbecoming of a captain. Then he probably would have said something deeply insulting to him, maybe about how the people who actually trusted him got murdered because he sucks, so Eddington would get mad and slap him first, so NOW they can wrestle.
Picard would do an angry monologue about how lying is beneath them, how he would expect better from someone who claims to be a leader. And Eddington would be real ashamed about it.
Lorca would shoot him in the shoulder, put him in zipties, and tell everyone how they need to obey him to get out of here before Eddington dies of the damage the shot did to his heart. Or he'll just leave them all here for the Jem'Hadar.
Janeway would say, "I know. I assumed you were lying the whole time. I've talked to Chakotay - the Maquis don't have that kind of interstellar firepower. I played along to see what you were up to." Then Voyager, which has been trailing them this whole time while using some weird semi-cloak they invented specifically for this situation and can never use again, will uncloak and beam them all aboard, then flee.
Edit: Oh yeah. Archer. Uh...he would explain how disappointed he is. Then...
I'm sorry. I love Scott Bakula, but that character was just the straightest line Tetris block there is. People are allowed to be boring, nice men. ...It just doesn't make for great TV.
The poor cast on that show. They got screwed.
...Except Jolene Blalock. She sucks.
Whatever. All 3 of you Enterprise fans, tell me what you think Archer would do. Because I can't imagine you can come up with anything better.
