We’ve been blessed with some magnificent weather and today is no exception! Jenny does her lookout as we get to the cemetery entrance! She was waiting for Jessie and Harry and we didn’t get too far in when something caught her attention! I was giving Wally a treat and thought she’d spotted a rabbit but it was a cat curled up on one of the gravesites! It was not at all fazed by her close proximity and Jenny was equally hoping for a meeting! I don’t like seeing cats in the cemetery as it usually means they’ve been out all night and I worry for the possums and birds etc Had the cat been there ombrage return journey I was going to get a cat cage and hopefully deliver it to its owner! It had a collar! It had scarpered but I’ll keep an eye out for it! We couldn’t let the dogs off as the oval was being mowed! We walked the dogs around and as we turned for home Millie arrived and continued the journey home with us! Musetta and co enjoyed treats and two young ones joined in! Jenny is still a bit bewildered but seemingly comfortable as she rests up and lets the healing take place! I didn’t hear her last night until around 4.30 but she settled back to sleep until 6.00 today when I got up and let her out! She stayed down the back for a while and then came back inside where she ate a little steamed chicken fillet and lapped up some water! She’s been inside and here she is watching El Gato who was at the lounge door until I let her in! Jenny was alert to her moving past but soon lost interest! It’s been a big 12 months for this young girl! 2 operations, so I can sympathise with her! Maremmas apparently don’t handle anaesthetics so well! Still, it’s only been 24 hours since she went under the knife and I’m happy she’s just resting quietly! We had to change the collar as the one from the vet allowed her to get to her back right foot where she had a funny nail removed while under! It has a couple of stitches but since we put Lola’s old collar on she has left it alone! 🙏🏼❤️🙁 Thanks for all the kind wishes you’ve sent! I appreciate your care! Jenny and I drove to the Island today to visit Ma! It’s been a few weeks since we could visit due to a covid breakout in the home! Jenny waited patiently with me out the front while I waited for my RAT to come back negative! It did and we were in! Jenny was a bit loathe at first plonking herself in reception and not moving! I finally coaxed her through to the dining room towards Ma’s room and she wouldn’t move! A little more coaxing and dragging (arrgghh) and we were in with mum! Jenny was so good and after walking around mum’s room she plonked herself on the floor! We walked out in the garden and it was great that mum caught up with friend and residents representative Bill! Bill was a pilot, farmer organic vegetable grower and tends the gardens at the home ! He’s in his mid 90´s and had covid three weeks ago! Amazing man! When I took mum back to her room Jenny slept at her door for an hour or more! Protecting the entrance! Good girl Jenny!
