Thank you for reading. Keep the faith. This is my first instrumental FAITHLESS is first song I made, now 1 of 42 in The Time Space and Gravity trilogy. Two after BJ's funeral, I could not handle living, trying to think felt impossible, sleeping was a joke, enjoying or smiling became fake. I sat down at my piano and knew something had to happen. This. July 24, 2009, at 7.02pm cst. i met him 369 days before his last. only a couple days, hardly got to know bj living 3hours away yet one random summer weekend he invited me. we made my best memory of all time: trying to tan like basic white chicks and finding animals in the clouds after agreeing to help his sisters and bro clean. college wasn't going better than hs. this game, figuring out where and how to fit in was copying high school's failures too. but each day i tried to do my best being alone. then without warning, i wasn't. we were doing it all - absolutely nothing. us two ditched cleaning his dad's wagon to pretend beach on a deck chair. in that moment, after 22years, realized, sparked, woke up. learned what being happy felt. it took me 22 years. maybe 20 minutes of basking in a basket chair like we didn’t care. ethereal friendship between two who had always known each other. surprise splash of raindrops on the dried up husk with two seconds of life left before morbid thirst throws off the soul. the most simple moment i still will not talk about without tasting the invisible vapor stealing away the chance to ever be happy again. not that we had a clue how but I see now why we got along: him wanting to die from the issues pained in his deformed heart and me from the same in my head. BJ always said keep the faith and spring had been my start to trying faith in Jesus but losing BJ left us, over 1000 at his visitation and funeral, faithless. didn't know how to believe anything good for months. 16 years later, i know that cure isn't coming until faith is sight. nothing has changed who i am as much as his funeral. i know this life has no happy ending, no secret rainbow waiting round a corner. i am more cynical and worn out and angry than i ever was after doing everything possible to avoid those very things. maybe i should blame Jesus, family, church, other friends, government, tempting but this is exactly how life would go regardless of who i believe in. so we keep the faith
