So, no, it's not that.

It's how they're full of bias and prejudice towards Billy fans.

They come at us convinced they know exactly who they're dealing with. We're straight, white women. Shallow, unintelligent, extremely conservative, homophobic and, of course, racist.

There's not even a sliver of doubt that they have us all figured out.

Little do they know how I've met some of the sweetest, kindest people of all skin colors, genders and sexual orientation in the Billy fandom.

People who organize fundraisers, who take care of each other, who could not be further from the political right if they tried.

I've met compassionate people who feel empathy with a flawed character. Who acknowledge his flaws and don't pretend they don't exist at all.

Billy Hargrove deserved better.

Fitting that I got behind on artwork due to plans with our own polycule lol

Drawing Eddie, Chris and Billy together is actually my favorite thing. Mungroveham has my whole heart :’)

This is what their long fought for polycule looks like upon leaving Hawkins. I don’t think Billy envisioned a future where he had a true connection with one person, let alone any more. So when he wakes up one day, all grown up in his house in Shasta, and realizes he’s surrounded by so many lovers and friends, it’s an overwhelming feeling. And while I can’t wait to draw more stuff from that era of Billy’s life, I wanted to capture a sweet moment between him and his anchor partners first :^]

Their graduation isn’t just saying goodbye to school, or to Hawkins and their classmates. It’s more about saying goodbye to the old, conformed versions of themselves. Ones they are leaving behind for something better, more authentic. It’s a proper send off for the people they were when just surviving, before they really start living.

Steve placing an ice pack on Billy’s face after he saw him and Neil get into a terrible fight (thankfully Neil got the worst of it).

Nancy telling Robin that she is beautiful since she’s never been told that by anyone.

Billy and Eddie tightly holding on to each other and crying their eyes out since they both understand how it feels to be rejected by their own dad.

Eddie telling Chrissy that’s he’s proud of Chrissy for eating a little more everyday.

Chrissy and Billy recognizing that they both have body dysmorphia, and they promise to seek help together.

Nancy sharing her room with Robin so neither of them feel alone anymore.

Steve and Billy renting a motel room outside of Hawkins, giving them a break from their chaotic families.

Robin finding Chrissy sobbing behind the bleachers and offering her a shoulder to cry on.

Eddie holding Jason’s tired body and telling him he doesn’t need to exercise to the point of exhaustion.

Robin keeping extra ice cream just for Chrissy if she ever has a bad day.

Steve and Billy having a good cry together in the Camaro.

Jason offering Eddie an extra sack lunch so he has something to eat for the day.
