Night Out (S05E20) ABBOTT ELEMENTARY (2021â)
Abbott Elementary | 5.20, "Night Out"
"I obviously looked up to Jacob my whole life. He was so smart. I realized I could never be as smart as he was, so I put my brain into my muscles and became a jock and a drone pilot but Jacob's honestly the most fearless person I've ever met. He never cared what anyone else thought about him and always knew exactly who he was. He actually went to prom by himself. He had no date. Got himself a sick corsage and everything and just strolled in solo..." #this show nailed it with the casting of jacob's brother ABBOTT ELEMENTARY (4x07 | 4x08)

Melissa loves to watch horror movies but is a scaredy cat and canât do it alone. The honour falls to you this time since she found out you love horror movies and donât get scared (oh gee this couldn't be something I relate to). She uses your hand to cover her eyes and she grips your thigh every time she gets spooked, and soon enough she realizes what effect thatâs been having on you, and wants to thank you properly for keeping her company.Â
Jump Scare
Melissa Schemmenti X Reader
A/n: I love this prompt! Thank you! I jump at anything and everything but I love horror films! Hope you enjoy it!
Warnings: horror, fluff, first kisses, cuddling, some smut
****************************************************
For the past few months you have been invited to the Schemmenti household for movie nights every other Saturday. You secretly wished it happened every Saturday.
This week it was Melissaâs turn to pick. And as much as you want the sexy spitfire to have whatever she wants you hate when itâs her turn. For some reason she always picks horror films. And for her tough bravado exterior is a scaredy cat who jumps and squeals at the most obvious jump scares.
Thatâs not what bothers you though. You find it rather adorable but you wouldnât dare tell her that. No. What bothers you is Caleb usually sits next to her. Not that you suspect anything is going on there other than him being her favorite âadoptiveâ son.
He plays the protective son too much. âDonât worry, baby girl. I got you.â Every time she turns from the screen to hide in his shoulder.
Youâre not jealous. Absolutely not.
Calebâs the first to greet you at the door when you arrive. âWhatâs up, babygirl? Bring it in!â
And thatâs why you donât hate him personally. He calls everyone babygirl.
âWait, why arenât you in your pjâs? Are we not watching a movie?â You see that he is dressed to go out. You turn when you hear the tempo of Jacobâs feet skipping down the steps followed by Gregoryâs heavy weighted steps.
âSorry, y/n. Caleb had this brilliant idea and now we are dragging Gregory to the club to help him get over Janine.â By the roll of his eyes, he does not agree with this plan.
You pull out your phone to check for a missed text. Sure you are terrible at opening your texts but you always open it if itâs from Melissa. âDid I miss a text? Movie nightâs cancelled?â
And then Melissa appears from the kitchen with popcorn. âNo, hon. I ainât cancellinâ. Itâs my turn and I got a good one!â She proudly announces as she points to the screen and you see the cover for The Conjuring.
The gears in your head start turning as you put it all together. Jacob and Caleb are gonna be gone. Just you and Melissa with a horror film. Itâs finally your turn to hold her and it takes everything in you to not leap for joy.
As Melissa sets up the blankets and snacks and Caleb is checking over Gregoryâs outfit, Jacob pulls you to the side. âNowâs your chance. I only agreed to this because I know you hate it when Melissa hides into Caleb.â
âI have no clue what you are talking about, Jacob.â You deadpan. âGo have fun and keep an eye on Gregory. This is a bad idea, heâs not ready for all of that.â
âOh I 100% agree with you. But thisâŠâ he tilts his head to the couch, âis.â
âShut up. Go! And be safe!â With that you walk the boys to the door and wave them off.
Taking a deep breath, you turn back to Melissa on the couch. âI donât know why you insist on this genre. You barely watch any of it.â You laugh as you sit next to the armrest with your legs criss crossed up on the seat.
Melissa hits the lights and sits next to you. âI like a good jump scare. And I do too watch itâŠthrough my fingers. Itâs like an adrenaline rush that doesnât require a panty liner like rollercoasters or laughing too hard.â You nudge her leg when you burst out in laughter. She always makes you laugh
and you miss the smile that graces her face when the sound hits her ears.
When the movie starts itâs less than 5 minutes before sheâs leaning away from the tv and into your knee. You take the opportunity to rotate your hips to bring your leg up against the back of the cushion and Melissa takes the hint and scoots in between your legs to lean against your chest.
You giggle the first few times when she jumps and she mumbles a hard âshut up,â in return. When you come to the climax in the plot sheâs as close as possible with her knees curled up in your lap under the blanket.
She mumbles to herself, âoh hell no,â or, ânow why would she do that?,â when she knows something big or gross is about to happen. And when it does, you hold your breath because all you can smell is her when sheâs buried in the crook of your neck. Her breath tickles the flyaways that have slipped out of your ponytail.
âTell me when this partâs over.â She whimpers into your ear and the goosebumps erupt all over your neck. Her hand is splayed on your chest, her perfectly manicured nails are grasping for your collarbone as the suspenseful music crescendos. One arm is around her lower back holding her close. The other is cradling her hair and the side of her face to keep her from looking.
âNot yet, Mel. Iâll tell you when.â After about 30 seconds you feel her shift slightly to peer through the space between your thumb and index finger and she flinches again seeing the possessed mouth spewing into Loraineâs mouth. She turns back to bury deeper and you know your heart is racing, feeling her body pressed so securely into yours. âI said not yet, my love. I promise Iâll tell you when.â
You didnât notice the term of endearment that slipped past your lips but Melissa sure did. Her thumb started stroking patterns to settle your racing heartbeat. She focuses on the thump thump thump against the palm of her hand to drown out the sounds coming from the movie.
You continue to watch and once the squeamish scene passes you brush the hair out of her face to bring her out of hiding. âOkay, that part's over.â
She releases the breath sheâs holding but she doesnât pull out of your embrace very far. After nuzzling your neck with the tip of her nose she rotates just enough to see the screen but keeps her head on your shoulder. âThanks, hon.â
She never did that with Caleb. Sheâd jump, sheâd hide. But never nestled. The hand that was on your chest reaches for your wrist thatâs in front of her and pulls it into her lap to play with your fingers while her focus is back on the movie.
When the credits roll neither of you move but you do feel the breath Melissa releases that she had been holding for the majority of the movie. âOkay, I watched the trailer but I didnât think it would be that scary.â She laughs out in relief that itâs over. âWanna watch another movie, a lighter one?â
âSure, what movie did you have in mind?â
âUmm after that, probably a Disney.â She laughs at her own embarrassment.
âOoh okayâŠletâs seeâŠâ you scroll through your options and canât decide between two. âMy picks are Hercules for animated and Mistress of Evil for live action.â
âLet me guess, Hercules is for Meg.â
âAbsolutely! For Mistress of EvilâŠIâd say for the plot and the message, Jolie. But personally Michelle Pfieffer.â
âGood to know.â She just hums and you press play. âCan we lay down?â She asks, scooting into the back of the couch but not away from you..
âYeah.â You squeaked out before trying to clear your throat and trying again. âYeah, Iâd like that.â Smiling content to continue holding her. You lower yourself to lay along the couch on your back with a pillow under your head.
âThought so.â She curls around your side and drapes her leg over yours. Her hand goes back to your wrist on your chest and her thumb strokes your wrist there.
âWhat does that mean?â You try to cover up your panic at her hinting at your feelings.
She taps your wrist like it was an explanation in itself. âYour pulse was a dead give away. Very reactive.â It slows when I touch you or rub your skin. But when I do thisâŠâ the older woman shifts again to nuzzle in your neck, âit speeds up. I wonder what happens if I-â
She stretches up to kiss your pulse point below your jaw and you shiver all the way down to your toes. âThought so.â
âMel, I-â Melissa leans up to peer down at you and you look up to avoid eye contact. But she drops your wrist to hold your chin between her thumb and finger. She tilts your face down to make eye contact.
âShh. I like how responsive you are to me. Makes me feelâŠ.confident; brave even.â
âYouâre the most confident woman I know, Mel.â
âTrue. But I wasnât brave enough before.â She whispers this and you feel her breath on your lips. Mere centimeters and you could kiss her. But youâd never make the first move.
âBrave enough for what?â You breathe, not even sure if she could hear you.
She doesnât answer you, not with words at least. Before you start to think you should ask again louder, you get your answer.
Melissa leans in to slot her lips against yours. It was short and sweet. When she pulled back your lips chased hers. Your hand snuck into her hair to pull her back down. You felt her smile and giggle into your lips before you felt her tongue ask for permission. She was slow and exploring at first before the kiss grew hungrier.
Your tongues danced the tango back and forth. You licked the back of her teeth when she broke away to smile down at you before crashing your lips together once more.
Her hand started on your stomach and she slowly slid it up until she was palming your breast through your shirt. A moan rippled through your throat as your hands began to wander and found her ass pulling her into your thigh.
Her hips began to grind down on your thigh which pushed hers into your core. The movie was long forgotten. âFuck, hon- mmmm.â Melissa moans into your ear kissing along your neck as you both continue to ride each otherâs thighs.
âOh god, Mel!â You arched into her, throwing your head back as your senses became overwhelmed by her. âOh shit, Iâm gonna cum.â Her hand is still playing with your breast, gripping it like a lifeline. She pushes up to capture your lips again.
âMe too, baby. Donât stop.â You watch in awe as the pleasure dances across her features while she stares back at you. No longer kissing, just sharing the same breath as you both dance on the edge of climax.
Your hips lose their rhythm as your nails dig into her ass pulling her as close as possible as you fall off the precipice, crashing through your orgasm with her toppling after you. You finally break eye contact as your eyes roll back and she drops to bite your shoulder and muffle her moans.
As you both catch your breath, your cores lazily ride out the aftershocks. Melissa leans up to kiss you slowly like she has all the time in the world.
Eventually she pulls away and slinks down to get comfy again. You spread your legs to allow both of hers as she lays on your chest. Grabbing the remote she restarts the movie and resumes languidly stroking your perky nipple.
Your hands sneak under her shirt to rub the warm skin of her lower back and drop a sweet kiss to her hair.
âThis is your spot from now on.â She determines.
âIâd like that.â
You smile to yourself, you never imagined when you left your house today that youâd end up with the woman of your dreams in your arms.
You both make it about 20 minutes into the movie again before succumbing to sleep.
I know Melissa doesnât have kids, but sheâs a boy mom. Case in point: Jacob (and Caleb) and Gregory.
Barbara is a girl mom. Like, obviously she canonically has 2 daughters. But case in point: Janine and Ava.

You glance at the pink watch on your wrist, itâs almost time to pick your kids up at the gym. You re-arrange the desks and the projector for later, then you head out.
Before you started teaching everybody kept telling you that the first weeks of school were the hardest, but for you it was these last weeks that were a real nightmare.
The kids were tired, your brain was slowing running out of ideas and some days it was so hot you couldnât even think about getting the kids to listen to you.
âMiss B, my shirt is sticky.â
âMiss B, can we go play outside?â
âMiss B, the sun is hurting my eye!â
But thank God, they invented PE lessons. The hour the kids got at the gym was probably the most fun activity of the week. Also, you were pretty sure that since Mr Hill started every class preferred him over any other teacher.
The gymâs door are open, some kids are running and dribbling around the basketball hoops, while others are sitting down talking to Mr Hill.
When he sees you standing with a smile on your face, he claps and yells that âfun time is overâ. Some kids whine but they eventually go to the locker rooms.
You walk towards the center of the gym, where Caleb is already standing.
«Good morning, Miss B» you roll your eyes at the nickname.
«Good morning, Caleb»
His eyes go down to your blue skirt and you stop him before he even has the chance to say something. Ava already had something to say about it this morning. She said it looked like something not even Janine would wear. And you all know how she dresses.
«What? You look good. It matches your hair!» you stare at him for a good couple of seconds. Heâs smiling, he seems genuine. Thereâs no sing of malice in his eyes.
«Howâd it go?» you ask as he turns to face the dressing rooms.
«Well. I think. I mean, they donât always listen but I guess thatâs normal.»
You laugh lightly and nod your head «When they get bored itâs impossible to get them to focus.»
Caleb snaps his head around. «I know right! We had to change games four times in two hours.»
You nod, youâve lost count to how many times you had to improvise a lesson just to get the kidâs attention.
Silence quietly settles between the two of you. Itâs not loud or comfortable. Itâs just, there.
Then Caleb breaks it. «Heard you went out with someone last night.»
You were rocking from heels yo toes, but you abruptly stop. You look at him, arms crossed and your face in a confused frown. «How do you know?»
You expect him to turn, to look at you, but he doesnât. Instead heâs still staring at the changing rooms as if it helped the kids come out faster, or slower.
«Oh, so Jacob was right. Out of everyone in the school you went out with Mr Rennie?» «Whatâs wrong with him?» «Heâs a math teacher.» «Heâs smart.» «Heâs boring.»
You pause, not knowing what to say. Calebâs right. He is boring and self-centered. He spent all dinner complaining about his ex-wife and the low scores his students got on their last test.
Caleb laughs seeing your defeated face.
«Well, he asked me out and I felt bad saying no.» you mutter under your breath.
You hear him scoff and you already know what heâs thinking. How lonely you must be to go out with the first person who asks you.
«Just so you know, Iâm not judging.»
«Never said you were.»
He pauses for a second before replying. «Your face says otherwise.»
You shrug, tapping your foot nervously on the floor. You check the time, how long are the kids taking in there?
Caleb notices and wraps his arm around your shoulders, but this makes you more tense, irritated even.
«I wouldâve asked you out.»
âYeah, sureâ you think.
«No, really. I wanted to.» still, he doesnât let go.
What? He can read minds now?
«And Iâm sure I wouldâve been a much better company.»
You canât hold the snort that comes right after.
«You donât believe me?» he doesnât give you the time to answer that he immediately continues «let me take you out for dinner and Iâll prove you Iâm right.»
Your cheeks lightly flush and you canât help but smile. He sounds like an high schooler whoâs trying to prove his worth to his friends.
Finally the locker rooms open and the kids start running out before you even realize it.
Quickly Caleb lets go and you run your hands over your skirt, trying to look as normal as possible. But the kids already saw it and the whispers start, then the curious looks.
You cough to get their attention «Okay kids, itâs time to say goodbye to Coach C, you will see him in a week. Now we are going to class and watch a movie.»
That distracts them for a minute, they find themselves trying to guess which movie they are going to watch.
Youâre about to turn around and save yourself before the kids start asking you anything about you and Caleb, but he calls you.
«Do I also need to wait âtill next week to see you?»
You roll your eyes, but the kids notice the smile that formed on your face and the whispering starts again.
«Goodbye, Mr Hill.»
«Is that a yes?» he shouts when you start walking faster towards the doors.
You donât respond, just nod your head, still smiling.
«Miss B» Tommy runs to you and lightly pulls your skirt to get your attention. When you look down to him he smiles and asks you «are you and Coach C married?»
You freeze and almost choke on your saliva.
The giggling starts.
This guy will be the death of you.
