#calamus

Now, if you’ve seen a previous post of mine, you may already know why I associate Magpie with cowboys, but as a refresher, I gave Magpie an American Southern accent during my play-through of OneShot (don't ask me why), so now he's a bit of a Ameriboo. I don't know if I came up with this reasoning before or after playing Undertale Yellow, but I headcanoned that Magpie watched a bunch of westerns on VHS and he got particularly interested in it. So much so he started partaking in particularly cowboy things, like... having an accent or... drinking. Okay, not so much the drinking one, but the accent thing. His concept in the two outfits I'm designing is kinda cowboy-themed, but I'm trying to not make it look too much like a costume, which the current design is failing at.

Should also note that this TWICE related as well, but my tangent on that will be saved for the full art dump. But I chose these 9 for the SOLSTICE (the group name's) cast (and solstice actually does feel like a K-pop group's name) (and I think it's interesting how there's an equal balance of male and female members + 1 nonbinary member). They're sorted by age:

Nayeon - Kip Jeongyeon - Magpie Momo - Rue (this pick is hard because Momo's the dancer... how does a fox dance?) Sana - Calamus / Cedric (can't decide who's older) Jihyo - Cedric / Calamus Mina - Silver Dahyun - Proto Chaeyoung - Niko Tzuyu - Alula

I also imagined a subunit with the three bird people named MAGACAL, it just made sense (this group is equivalent to MISAMO):

Momo - Magpie Sana - Calamus Mina - Alula

I'm not exactly a fashion designer or stylist, but I hope that something good comes out of these drawings, even if it is mainly just practice. A part of me feels like I'm not being creative enough with my fanart, but I hope y'all enjoy it and what's to come.

Also, another note, I'm not particularly entrenched in the K-pop fandom (nor do I particularly want to be considering it's reputation, no offense), so I hope I'm mixing them correctly. I've just been listening to a lot of TWICE since the KPDH movie came out.
