The Cairo Tower was lit up red last night in celebration of the Emirati Al-Amal (Hope) Probe, which finally reached Mars’ orbit after flying for seven months and 494 million kilometres. Other landmarks, including Burj Khalifa in Dubai and the Roman Theatre in Jordan, turned on the red floodlights in celebration of and solidarity with this monumental Arab achievement.
