It was nights like these where Piers’ head seemed to run wild, and not with music inspiration for once. Honestly, he’d rather have that instead of thoughts of Spikemuth’s condition swarming his head. It was his fault it was like this, all run down and basically forgotten by the rest of the region. Sure, more people were visiting. But he could still hear the whispered remarks and the scrutinizing looks both the town and Piers himself got whenever someone new entered the town. Things were ever so slightly better than they were before the new Champion took over, but they weren’t great. 

So, he rolled onto his stomach on his bed and grabbed his phone. Intending to text his sister and not looking again to verify it was actually Marnie he was texting (must be due to the sheer tiredness he was feeling), he wrote out,

[TXT - aurora 🍰 ] : sorry im texting you so late. i know youre out tonight.

Baking... was not something Piers did a whole lot. His hands were far more suited for plucking guitar strings rather than handling baked goods, not to mention how rough to the touch they were. But he honestly couldn’t deny Aurora upon finding out she needed help with the baking. So, here he was in her kitchen, sleeves rolled up and hair tied into a long ponytail, resulting in him lacking the piece of hair that typically hung over one side of his face.

      While Rio herself was unsure what led to her current situation, she assumed it had to do with the city she was the leader of. People relied on her, and she knew that.

      She’d do anything for them. Even if it means helping carry the deliveries to the pokémon center. The boxes were heavy, but she couldn’t complain. After all, there wasn’t much farther to walk anyway.

      What was surprising is that the load suddenly got...lighter. peeking around the boxes in her grasp, she was almost relieved to fins someone willing to give her a hand.
