❝  okay  ,  you can open your eyes now  ,  ❞  jawsh  told  the  taller  (  by  only  an  inch  )  human  standing  next  to  him  .  two  feet  away  from  the  pair  stood  an  almost  equally  as  tall  artificial  tree  and  a  box  filled  with  ornaments  and  other  christmas  tree  decor  .  he  lured  soon  back  to  his  dorm  by  telling  him  he  had  a  ‘  super  fun  and  exciting  surprise  best  friends  activity  ’  for  the  newly  declared  best  friends  to  do  .  and  yes  ,  that  activity  was  ...  tree  decorating  .  it  wasn’t  jawsh’s  favorite  thing  to  do  by  any  means  ,  but  he  mostly  just  wanted  some  company  .  plus  ,  he  did  tell  soon  they  were  best  friends  now  ,  and  isn’t  this  what  best  friends  did  together  ?   ❝  what  do  you  think  ?  ❞

    “oh god, tell me i was half decent.” laughter lights features in sunshine and warmth, chagrin coloring cheeks rosy with self-consciousness. it’s felt like ages since he last faced a crowd with crooning vocals, never mind the fact he’s never sung karaoke in front of people before. it’s a different sort of spotlight, and he’s still flushed with the rush of it.

it didn’t take much to get basil talking about his husband. not when his thoughts were almost always focused on the other man anyways. “ he’s perfect. ” he hummed softly, and didn’t even care how the dreamy tone made him sound ridiculous. “ i mean, he’s barely taller than me and he’s petty as hell. and he doesn’t like to talk about his feelings – i always have to pry him open when something’s bothering him, but. i wouldn’t trade him for anything. he’s home. my soul and his soul were meant to be side by side, you know ? and we went through a lot of absolute bullshit together, but it’s left me with this trust in him that never shakes. never wavers. i know no matter what, he has my back. i couldn’t have asked for a better husband. i couldn’t have asked for anyone to be so, so good to me. god knows i don’t deserve him. ” and after a pause – “ and that’s not even taking into account how bomb the dick is, to be honest. ”

     “is it really so difficult to abide by the cafe’s rules ??” it’s odd, misplaced, to find frustration alight the normally lax woman’s features, eyebrows pinched and harried where there is usually only vague amusement ( or annoyance at one jordan yi for skipping out on practice again ). annoyed breath blows past pursed lips, hair falling to obscure vision and maxine doing little to move it aside, even as she lets head loll to meet the other's gaze as best as she can. “seriously, soda is not easy to clean out of those seats.”
