Cacomistle or Ringtail (Bassariscus astutus), family Procyonidae, Mexico
Ringtails, also called Ring-tailed Cats, are in the Raccoon family. (Not actually a cat).
Nocturnal.
They are excellent climbers, able to scale sheer vertical rock faces.
Their hind feet can turn 180 deg.
Their tough foot pads allow them to climb cacti with little trouble.
Mostly solitary.
