thalia and jason mean so much to meeee so heres some headcanons about them
jason is the only person allowed to call her lia. if anyone else does, they get zapped on sight. bonus points if lia (or a baby-ish approximation) was his first word :)
thalia took time on each of jason’s birthday’s to grieve - luke noticed and never mentioned it, but always wondered what happened on that date
jason notices how lightning really responds to thalia’s emotions, so he tries to use the wind to communicate his feelings to her …. I HATE THEM I HATE THEM I HATE THEM :(((((((
they both have very strong morals, side effect of zeus’s domain over law and such
being around thalia makes jason act a bit more like a younger brother, and at some point says “lia!!!” in a kinda whiney voice and for the next ten minutes is like “what have I become I was a praetor and now I’m acting like a child” meanwhile thalia’s absolutely doing whatever he was trying to convince her to do
Seven minutes of noise and firelight and too many voices overlapping each other. Seven minutes of people brushing past her shoulders, laughing too loud, standing too close, asking questions she doesn’t feel like answering.
She keeps her face neutral. She always does.
But her jaw is tight. Her fingers twitch at her sides. The air feels too thick, like it’s pressing in instead of out.
The campfire crackles. Sparks jump. Someone shouts her name from across the clearing.
She doesn’t answer.
Then she sees you.
You’re sitting a little apart from the crowd, not hiding but not engaging either-just there. Watching the fire down instead of up. Calm in a way that feels intentional.
Thalia doesn’t think about it.
She just moves.
She crosses the space between you and the crowd in long, decisive strides and drops down beside you without asking. Close enough that your shoulders touch. Close enough that her knee presses into yours.
You glance at her, surprised, then soften.
“Hey,” you say quietly.
She exhales like she’s been holding her breath all night.
“Hey.”
She doesn’t explain. Doesn’t apologize. She just angles her body slightly toward yours, blocking out half the campfire with her shoulder. The noise dulls immediately, like someone turned the world down a notch.
You don’t comment on it.
That’s why she chose you.
A few minutes pass. Her foot stops tapping. Her hands unclench. The storm under her skin settles into something manageablestill there, but no longer screaming.
You offer her your water without looking.
She takes it.
“Too much?” you ask, still gentle, like you already know the answer.
She nods once. Honest. “Yeah.”
You shift closer, just enough to anchor her. Your arm brushes hers. Not clinging. Not careful. Present.
Thalia swallows.
“I don’t hate people,” she mutters. “I just… don’t like being surrounded.”
“I know.”
That gets her attention. She looks at you then, really looks.
“You do?”
You shrug. “You act differently in crowds.”
Her mouth curves despite herself. “Figures.”
Someone laughs loudly behind you. Thalia flinches before she can stop herself-and you notice. You always do.
Without a word, you lean in until your shoulder is solid against her side.
She lets herself rest against you.
Just a little.
“You don’t have to stay,” she says after a moment. “If you want to go talk to people.”
You shake your head. “I’m good right here.”
Her chest tightens. Not unpleasantly. Just… heavy with something she doesn’t have a name for.
“I don’t like crowds,” she admits again, quieter this time.
“I know.”
She hesitates, then adds, almost like it slips out on its own, “Except you.”
Your fingers curl slightly against the grass. You don’t tease her. You don’t make it a thing.
You just smile and stay exactly where you are.
For once, Thalia doesn’t feel like she has to…to leave to survive it.

My Camp Half-Blood hc’s that I apply to most (if not all) that I write
p.s. loves: i’m rusty on the book lore & these are lowk based on my experience in a private high school
It’s very few the campers that actually follow the sitting-at-their-designated-table rule. I mean, let’s be real— these are troublesome kids/teens who likely have some resent towards their godly parents for not being present in their lives (resentment that has been building since before they learned the why to it), and with how the gods are, a lot of these kids are also unclaimed. It takes Chiron a while, but he eventually reluctantly lets this happen.
Since those bright orange shirts are a must to wear, the majority of campers have theirs customized. Cutting out collars, cropping them, making them sleeveless, adding embroidery— you name it, they’ve done it. It’s the only way to get them to wear that hideous color.
Satyrs (the ones who are protectors like Grover was) have their own smaller cabin near the big house.
Also the big house is used to house mortal guests.
This is a huge one for me but— the barrier. Certain mortals can enter camp if a god allows it. There are certain exceptions to this rule, as some mortals (those who can see through the mist for example) already have entry on their own. But regular mortals (such as for example Paul Blofis, who has no connections to the gods) would be allowed entry into camp if a god (any god: Olympian, older ones, Titans, etc.) permitted them to. This entails that the gods do keep a close eye on the borders of CHB and their children altogether.
They have nightly campfires. They start just after dinner, and the younger campers stay for around 1-2 hours before they are led back to their cabins by the respective cabin heads. After that, the older campers are allowed a free space where they can simply be teenagers and hang out with their friends up until 10pm-ish.
In the Heroes of Olympus series in The blood of Olympus book, Jason takes Piper to a sort of hidden attic skylight in the zeus cabin which he recently discovered right?
That leads my to hc (also known as my cannon) that all big 3 cabins have something like that.
CHB is by the Atlantic Ocean right? So maybe Poseidon cabin has a sort of underground passage that leads to a hidden aquarium type-ish room? A comfy room where percabeth can get some privacy (except fishies), with carpet floors enchanted to not get dusty, strong unbreakable glass walls, with a view of different colorful fishes, corals and whatever.
Perhaps Hades cabin has some sort of underground cave, low lights, kinda like a goth necromancer demigod cave. Optimum for practicing powers and summoning ghosts, without being judged, filled with weapons. But like, also candles and solitude. A place for them to rest and unwind. Maybe with an old fashioned gramophone. Nico trains Hazel here, as I doubt she can train freely with Hades side of her powers in CJ.
