#cabbage white

A simple yet beautiful butterfly searching for nectar, perched on a flower of matching color! I was able to get a single picture of this individual before it went on its way as the ever-working cabbage white does. These butterflies can be seen fluttering about in most parts of the world, but catching one sitting still is a much harder task. I love the subtle yellow tint on this one's wings!

A cabbage white butterfly hiding amongst the large leaves of a low-growing plant, resting briefly before fluttering off again. These butterflies, like many species, never seem to stop flying, so it's always a rush to get in close when they land! They're exceedingly common in many parts of the world, yet they seem to enjoy dodging some peoples' (my) cameras. This individual was indeed white, but the green of the leaves it was sitting on was reflecting onto its wings, giving it this pastel green coloration. I always like it when my subjects blend into their surroundings, so I find it quite pretty!
