Starter call for @natepxrker
Trix couldn’t remember a time when she’d been more embarrassed in her life. She also couldn’t believe she hadn’t put two and two together. The entire drive up they’d been talking about their families, the sole reason they were apparently travelling to the same place, but never once had she fathomed that their reason would be the exact same. Sure it had seemed like a really funny coincidence that both their parents were remarrying and that they were being forced to attend a party to meet their new families, but she’d never expected to see the stranger she’d been lowkey flirting with again once she’d dropped him off in town. Sure, she’d taken his number and they’d both made vague promises to call, and sure maybe she’d considered actually doing it maybe once or twice as she drove to her father’s new house, but she never in a million years expected him to walk through that door half an hour later.
Trix had almost dropped her glass of champagne, eyes wide like a deer caught in the headlights. The contents of her glass were quickly thrown back in a very unladylike manner as her step-mum-to-be went to greet her son at the door. She’d tried to hide, unsuccessfully, as her father pulled her out from the corner of the room to meet her new ‘brother’, and she watched his face drop as he recognized her too. Introductions were made, again - and then everyone went back to mingling in the party, leaving the two standing by the door; still in shock. After a moment, Trix grabbed him by the arm and into the back - out of sight of their parents. ( “Why didn’t you tell me?!” ) She almost growled at him, eyes wild, as if he were the one to blame for this surprise.
