He hadn’t had any expectations from Nisa when asking her to be his date to the Ball. But, perhaps that was why he had asked her to be his date in the first place, there would be no expectations of relationships or a call the next day. He could still make everyone around him happy by playing the part of a decent man, and not have to worry about the rest of it all. The kid was settled for the night with a sitter that Nick had insisted on, ... something that had puzzled him, who even knew kids needed a sitter? Levi exhaled softly, pulled from his thoughts as he caught sight of Nisa again, “It’s going against every instinct to go inside about now honestly,” he muttered, glancing over her frame slowly, “You in that dress makes me wanna just drag you somewhere private.”

“Nisa, motherfucking, Kaplan open your door lady!” Morgan’s fisted pounded on the door as she waited for the other woman to open the door. Two of a kind, she found a kindred spirit in the nurse and Morgan was genuinely glad that she actually had someone in Madison who understood her. As Nisa’s face appeared before her she barely gave the other woman time to say even a hello before she was kissing her friend full on the lips in greeting. “About time you opened the door, what you got a guy in here or something?” the woman accused, “Anyway, get yourself dressed up we’re going out.”

If you asked Levi growing up what he thought of Nisa Kaplan, he would’ve just said she was a little kid and moved on. But somewhere in those intervening years, whilst he was off besotted with his eventual wife, she grew up and one day he looked at her realising that the kid he knew had grown into, quite frankly, a stunning woman. So it was no surprise what had happened to them, one too many drinks before Levi was doing what he did best, throwing himself into oblivion by losing himself in the softness of Nisa. Neither of them had ideas of romance, there was no worry of the other catching feelings. It went on as a silent understanding between them: just sex. No strings. So when he’d gotten off work he’d texted her, and her responding arrival time allowed him to get home and wash the grease smell off him. He was just buttoning a shirt when he heard the doorbell, and he opened the door with a cheeky grin. “Nurse Kaplan, I’m in desperate need of some medical attention.”
