A few days ago, I wanted to read an older edition of Crime and Punishment that I bought about six months ago. When I knocked it off the shelf, I was surprised to find sticky tabs in it, which meant I'd already read it. A 500+ page book, and I didn't remember it at all. In my defense, it was probably around the seventh time I'd read it, but still, I simply have no memory of ever opening it.

C&P has got to be some kind of literary Rorschach test for the reader because I only learned just now that most readers "love" Razumijin and he isn't, apparently, intentionally written to be as obnoxious as possible.

Razumijin has in only a few chapters become my most hated character since M*rtin Bl*ckwood. I hate him so much. I want to wring his neck until the light leaves his eyes. What the fuck is wrong with him.
