#c!techno critical

He's running on pure instinct, fresh from suicide attempt and running from his abuser and the only one he can confide in is c!techno the criminal that destroyed his home country. Despite their history c!techno still took him in, but why? He could of just kick c!tommy from his house and let him run lose in the tundra of snow and let him survive on his own while c!drm sniff over his trails of footstep. But he took him in and protect him from the looming threat of his abuser.

And its sad, its very sad that even if c!Techno took c!Tommy in he used it as an opportunity. An opportunity to use c!Tommy as a pawn in his quest for anarchy. Now, you might be thinking, but c!techno took him in, take care of him and even defended c!tommy ,why are you painting him as this heartless villain that used an abused child for his own gains? Frankly, I try not to and maybe its also in the way i'am awful with articulating my words into something that make sense. I truly do not think c!Techno is heartless and his relationship with c!tommy does have a sincerity in it.

But I think my main point is that, there was a power imbalance between c!tommy and c!techno that people often overlooked. Like I said c!Tommy is fresh out of exile n traumatized n stuff and he's in a weaker position and his only hope in escaping his abuser is c!Techno since he is the only character thats is deadass near logstedshire and also one of the most powerful people in the esempi.

And also I just do not think painting an abuse survivor trying to find help as an act of... That, is a nice message you know 😁 haha- not to get real and get to the implication of stuff- but ahahaha, yk haha. ANYWAY.

I don't think c!techno is a heartless monster, like I said i think his relationship with c!tommy has sincerity within it. I think as time goes on, i think techno grew actual care toward tommy evidence by his interaction with tommy as time goes on growing more closer and affectionate and his strong reaction when tommy left him for tubbo.

But still, c!Techno treats tommy more of a pawn in his quest for anarchy, you also have to remember that he will send off c!tommy to his abuser again without a second though if c!drm used his favor. Of course, if you were in c!tommy place, why would you stay with a guy like that? He goes againts everything you stand for and you don't even know if you're safe with him. Maybe because he saved your life? Do you really owe him that much that you are willing to destroy your home and even fight your own best friend for him? Was it all transitional? Do I worth anything? Do I not matter as a living breathing human being? Am I not worth of safety?

He killed tubbo on that stage cause he was prompted to, and he wanted to. Tubbo had no other choice but let it go (based on a myriad of reasons, like his inherent need to ignore his trauma and difficult/"bad" emotions, or technos sheer power over them)

If you go back and watch the streams, techno pressures tommy to join him in destroying lmanburg even though the teen repeatedly tells him he will not go against his country and his friends. He agrees on "light destruction" after much pressure, but nothing more than that. Tommy tells Techno again and again he doesn't agree with him on his views of lmanburg and government, but techno literally feeds himself delusions, bc he cant possibly accept that he can care for someone with opposing views.

Tommys "betrayal" was not surprising, techno deluded himself so much, he used those delusions to feed his manipulative and destructive tendencies and hatred towards lmanburg.

Ctechno is a complicated character, and that's what makes him interesting. But please stop refusing to discuss the actions of a morally disturbed character just because you liked the sarcasm and emotional blockage the character had.

Also, another hot take, more people pardon ctechnos actions because the content creator has passed away. I love the content creator, but if i actually express any of that critique off-annon i will be torn to shreds.

oooh interesting take lmao. im gonna insert a courtesy "c!techno is generally a good person and does good" disclaimer bc like, c!techno is generally a good person that does good and cares about people and gets ridiculous amounts of hates for stupid things all the damn time, for the record, but also ... i cant say i dont get what you mean in part?

i think there's a phenomenon with c!techno sometimes where people can make him either too much of a paragon or strip him of too much agency in a way that's weird to me. i mean like, "he's canonically 3 years old" jokes aside, this guy isn't someone whos just doomed to be taken advantage of everyone unless they "respect his boundaries 🥺🙏" and can't assert himself at all and whatever, yknow? like, he can AND DOES assert himself when he thinks it's necessary. he can AND DOES act like an asshole sometimes!

like c!techno is a full, well-rounded character. he gets too angry sometimes and does shit he regrets. he has to make efforts to change. he has feelings, he gets hurt, he lashes out. he's too dismissive sometimes because he copes with shit through humor. he isn't perfect, and that's ... a good thing? it's a good thing that he's a full well rounded interesting character with flaws. but at the same time, pointing out said flaws and treating them as flaws isn't damnation!

like, for example, right, it's perfectly understandable for him to feel used and betrayed by c!tommy. was he also kinda mean to c!tommy in the aftermath in a way that can be pointed out? i mean. yeah of course! and like, of course he was grieving and hurt and in a lot of emotional pain when c!ranboo died and did that probably play into his attitude towards c!dream post-prison break? absolutely! was stripping a guy that is literally being chased down by his literal torturers and a server of people who want to kill him of his armor and telling him he can keep a weapon For A Favor and then going "awwh we didnt get him to use his necromancy powers :/" absolutely still kind of a generally asshole-y thing to do? i mean, YEAH ???? like, if they werent doing that bc of some kind of plan, that was still kind of a jerk thing to do? in a way that's very understandable, because c!techno is a character that becomes more of a jerk when he's stressed and in emotional turmoil. and this isnt about damning him or condemning him ... but i don't see the point of erasing said moments either.

Like, imagine being so emotionally incompetent that you start fucking swinging as soon as anyone challenges you on anything.

Imagine being so afraid of the possibility of being wrong that, instead of thinking about whether or not executing a teenager on stage may have been morally wrong, you beat the absolute shit out of that teenager's best friend and pretend that solved the conflict.

Imagine thinking that, as soon as someone wrongs you, no matter their reasons, or whether it was a misunderstanding, or anything you may have done, that's a free pass for you to absolutely fucking destroy their home, their life, everything they care about.

Imagine destroying someone's home, blowing them up with fireworks, justifying everything by saying some bullshit about peer pressure and how violence is the only universal language, and then when THEY become violent towards YOU, talking to you in the only language YOU seem to understand, you become so fucking furious you destroy everything they love AGAIN!!!

Imagine being such a violent, vengeful maniac that the only people who don't run for the hills as soon as they catch wind of you are a fucking immortal creature married to a literal goddess who doesn't ever challenge you on anything, a walking anxiety disorder with a spine made of marshmallows and uncooked spaghetti who is so terrified of upsetting you he won't even confront you about the fact that you MURDERED HIS HUSBAND, and the former tyrant of the server with a god complex the size of the fucking sun and an ego even bigger, who has been in solitary confinement and hasn't had a normal conversation with another human being for the better part of a year.

Imagine thinking that you NEED violence to communicate because it's the "only universal language" when YOU and LITERALLY FUCKING EVERYONE AROUND YOU SPEAKS FUCKING ENGLISH!

Tommy Fucking Innit, an at the time 16 year-old boy with a long, LONG track record of uncontrolled emotional outbursts, learned this bullshit! Tommy has been through three wars, two exiles, he's been abused, he's developed severe PTSD, he's tried to fucking OFF HIMSELF, and even HE realized that hurting the people around him, regardless of his trauma, or what they've done to him, is a SHIT thing to do!

Meanwhile Techno The Blade, a grown ass man, decides to throw a fucking hissy fit, TWICE, the first time because Pogtopia didn't fucking read his mind and create an anarchist paradise in L'Manburg ten minutes after the end of a literal war, the second time because L'Manburg tried to execute him for murdering their president and destroying their country, failed, and then mildly inconvenienced him by hiding his stuff from him.

Imagine how much shit could've been prevented if Techno had just used his fucking words! The whole wither thing, L'Manburg being terrified of this looming threat and the Butcher's Army would've been COMPLETELY PREVENTED if Techno had just said "hey uhh the last time you guys had a president it didn't end well, how bout this cool idea i have called anarchism!" Obviously not everything would've been sunshine and daisies what with Dream being around, but things would've been SO MUCH more chill if Techno had just relaxed for a singular second and actually explained what he wanted and why, instead of just shooting the newly appointed and pretty reluctant teenage president in the face with a rocket launcher and screaming at him that he's a tyrant.

Techno LOVES to preach for freedom from tyranny and everyone being able to live in peace without oppressive governments, while he stockpiles WMDs for fun, runs basically the Secret Police, and everyone except his closest friends is TERRIFIED of what happens when they BREATHE at him wrong. Dream may be a child abusing supervillain who doesn't even see the people around him as human anymore, but at least he still has a fucking handle on his temper!

Techno is the most volatile motherfucker on the entire server, everyone is scared of him, and yet he seems so allergic to, nigh incapable of introspection, he doesn't even seem to realize it. He expects everyone to cater to HIS emotions, HIS wants and needs, while he so blatantly does not care about anyone else, he went around to the community of the child he physically and psychologically scarred for life, looking to see if he could find an excuse to nuke it, WHILE SAID CHILD WAS GRIEVING HIS RECENTLY MURDERED FRIEND!

Violence is not the only universal language. Fucking BABIES understand what you mean when you give them a bottle, or kiss them on the forehead, or sing to them. There is not a single human being on this planet who doesn't understand a hug. You could put twenty people, all speaking wildly different languages, in a room, and none of them would understand shit, but as soon as you put on some music all of them will vibe to it all the same.

The only thing Techno's brand of violence communicates is "I am going to hurt you. I am bigger and stronger and there is nothing you can do. Don't make me upset." And then he walks away, pretending they've learned their lesson, while the only thing he's done is make everyone just a little bit more terrified, a little bit more miserable, and a little bit more angry.

He's a fucking coward, too scared to engage with anyone properly, for fear of the possibility of being wrong. He builds up concrete barriers around himself, and sits there, his hand on the big red button, ready to press it as soon as someone trips within 3 feet of his wall.
