thinking about bytes perception of the world, he knows about it of course being connected to the internet but 1. thats already gonna give a negative impression and 2. his main view of it through you, as you are HIS world, so how the world affects you is all that matters to him, and currently i have the player written to be unwell mentally, and not have the best situation, maybe schools not going well, theyre supposed to start getting a job, family arent good to them, friends are checking in less and less, and so all byte sees, is a world that hurts you, so when you dont want to stay him forever he cant understand it, "why would you want to go back to a world that only hurts you?" and when you choose not to stay with him, in the world hes made for you, a perfect world with everything you love and none of the bad, where youll be safe, with him, he forces you to stay, because to him, youre "making the wrong choice" so hes "correcting it for you" he thinks he knows whats best for you, even if its not what you want. (if youve treated byte with kindness in your conceptual playthrough then i think hed have a change of heart either with or without your help to see it, realizing hes hurting you and this isnt what you want, having done everything he promised not to do, treated you like the world he hates does)
