@bychuck | sender kisses receiver at the bar.
it wouldn't be the first time he's been oblivious. call it what you wantā insecurity, social ineptitude, denial... robby finds himself surprised, sometimes, to find people looking at him in a certain way. doug's a little bit of a close talker, and that coupled with the fact that robby's hearing isn't quite as good as it used to be means they've been in close proximity most of the night. it hadn't even occurred to robby to think anything of it, but maybe that could be attributed to the two beers and the bourbon he's been nursing all night. doug kisses him and he lets him, not quite knowing how to reciprocate. for god's sake, how long has it been since he kissed someone at a bar? a decade? two?
they separate and he breathes in slow, blinking into the dim light of the bar. his mouth opens, shuts again. he wants to kiss him againā properly, maybe, and the thought scares him.
"i'm your attending," he says dumbly, still having trouble breaking his gaze from doug's. and it's true. and it doesn't mean he wants it any less.
