For a little while I think I wanted to make Lance just straight up evil and angry for no reason, but I soon realized that would give no real depth to its character. And of course that’s a major flaw for any relevant character in a story!

It’s much easier for Lance to come off as a cruel and cold ruler, because this leaves less room for questioning the authority it possesses in Wonderworld (I’ve kept his previously mentioned temper of course). But in reality, Lance is a deeply complex character, who’s objectives are to preserve the sanctity of Wonderworld and protect its sibling(s) at all costs, even if that means using questionable methods to achieve these goals.

Lance cares about Balan a lot and wants what’s best for him and to see him happy. But unfortunately, Wonderworld comes first. Before Balan’s happiness, and certainly before Lance’s own.

I have something horrible to admit…

Ive ironically and unironically played Balan Wonderworld… I know, I know… It’s one of my deepest darkest secrets.

In fact, I’ve secretly been in the fandom since like 2023… 💔💔
