Both of these were kind of painful to get through. At least the pages came out cute.

from my sketchbook, 2025
Games I experienced 8/17/25-10/24/25
I decided not to include Next Fest demos in this anymore because I played so many of them this time.
9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors (watched: Quasimofo): Yes, one of my favorite Let's Players is currently playing 999, and I'm trying sooo hard (and failing I think) to not be annoying about it in their Discord. I think they think it's going to be a lot shorter than it really is.
Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure (played): A fantastic game that tricked me into enjoying what is essentially block-pushing. I think it's a central element of "Mars-core" for a game to have puzzles that make me say, "Oh, that was cute" when I figure it out.
The Blackwell Convergence (watched: ZenBear): Rosangela became a lot less relatable as an isolated and socially awkward character after the first game but...
The Blackwell Deception (watched: ZenBear): Joey is weirdly hot to me so I'm just as engaged in this series as I ever was. WHY is Joey so hot to me, he's not my usual type at all.
Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling (played): I like this one so far, it's cute. I haven't played it in a couple weeks though because I always get a little overwhelmed by the prospect of games that are very long.
Button City (played): I love cute stuff with all my heart, but this game was SO cute that it even grated against me a little bit.
Deep Sleep: Labyrinth of the Forsaken (watched: Graeme Games): I actually never got around to finishing this series. It's okay though, I have time. I always intend to watch Graeme's videos as he posts them, but he's fallen off the Let's Playing map again.
Deep Sleep Trilogy (watched: Graeme Games): Cool. I know this is one of those "Markiplier made me famous" games but it actually seemed a bit more sophisticated than that usual fare.
An English Haunting (played): I absolutely loved this one. It reminded me why I love point-and-click adventures so much.
Golden Idol Investigations: The Curse of the Last Reaper (played): My first YouTube videos in a long time!
Hades II (played): I'd been playing this game nonstop during Early Access but I only played it one time once it came out because then everyone started shitting on the ending and it made me scared.
Hollow Knight: Silksong (watched: Welonz AND Quasimofo AND PlayFrame): I think this game looks like an absolutely miserable time that I would not enjoy playing one bit but it's still fun to watch. Obviously it must be if I'm watching three playthroughs of it simultaneously. Even when I'm a little bit of a hater I can't help but find things to enjoy about the thing.
Iconoclasts (watched: Quasimofo): After this game I joined Quasi's Patreon so I could vote on what they play (actually I'm the reason 999 won by one vote hehehe)
Lawn Buster for Hire (played): This is probably going to end up being the last itch.io charity bundle game I play for a while. I just have too many Steam games in my backlog and I haven't been enjoying the bundle games as much.
Return of the Obra Dinn (watched: PlayFrame): I always get a little bit obsessed with this game when I watch a playthrough. I bopped to the soundtrack many times over the duration of this one.
The Sims 4 (played): Started playing it again for the first time in ages and then EA announced they like. Sold it to the Saudi government or some shit? What the hell.
Underhero (watched: nidoking042): This is a non-blind playthrough, which is disappointing, and this guy doesn't even go the trouble of reading the dialogue out loud, which is annoying. But whatever, I wanted to watch a playthrough of this game and I can't be picky.
Until Then (played): I need to finish making this YouTube series so bad. I think I've already let Promise Mascot Agency go into the tomb of abandoned series, so I need to at least save this one.
Virtue's Last Reward (watched: adricarra): ...yes. Yes, I am watching Let's Plays of 999 and Virtue's Last Reward simultaneously. I've only watched one episode of adri's VLR series and already it amazes me how much better VLR is in terms of like. Actual puzzles and gameplay. I'll never understand why people say 999 is the pinnacle of the series.
Wolfenstein: The New Order (watched: Laila Dyer): This game too scary. Nazis :(

My Favorite Games of 2022 and Most Anticipated for 2023
My Favorite Games of 2022 and Most Anticipated for 2023
I had been asked if I considered doing this and well, considering we’re already over a week into January, clearly not. I actually really struggle with picking favorites so this definitely isn’t really a “My most favorite games” list so much as a “I had a really good time playing this game” or in the case of anticipated, are ones I either heard about or played the Demo for in 2022 (and the game…
