Summary: Swap gets in an argument with Dream. Ends up Meeting with a certain someone...

“No! I don’t want to do this anymore, Dream!” Swap huffed, packing his bags “Swap! This is your goal in life! Why can’t you just accept the fact you’re gonna have to kill some people. All kingdoms have losses. It isn’t all sunshine and rainbows!” Dream said as he put his hand on the other’s shoulder. “Don’t touch me. I said I’m done here, do not try to make me think any otherwise. I’m sick and tired of you pushing me around- like- like some kind of ragdoll!” Swap said as he shoved Dream back.

“This is just one sacrifice that I’ll have to make. That you have to make! It isn’t a big deal. It’s just a few lifes” Dream said as he rolled his eyes at Swap’s antics, “it isn’t just a few lives! Dream! Those people had lives! A family! And you made me kill them!?” Dream tried to speak but was cut off by Swap “if you think that's what's best for your kingdom. Then you don’t deserve the title of ‘hero’”. Dream stepped in front of Swap, “I order you to stay and listen.” Swap raised a bonebrow “what.” “What could possibly save your hind this time, Dream?”.

Dream looked down “I-... I understand you’re mad at me, and it’s completely reasonable- really… I do understand where you’re coming from. But… it’s really not that simple, If I- if we didn’t kill those people… then they’d infect my kingdom with pain!” Dream said, looking up at Swap with pained eyelights.

Swap’s sockets went black. “Dream.” “y-yes?” Swap grabbed Dream by the shoulders, the rage and negativity radiating off of him. “They were being hunted! They came for you to help! And you just killed them! That isn’t right! It never will be! It- it’s plain wrong! You could’ve just hidden them in your kingdom- or even send them away- not- not this! Not what you chose to do!” Swap let go of Dream. Sighing, “I believe every person can change” looks back at Dream, “though I cannot help you change this time. I can forgive you, but I cannot forget. I’m leaving the kingdom by dawn-” Dream shot up, eyes blazing “no!”. “I- I order you to stay! You can’t leave me!” “please…” Dream hugged him “Not you… please”.

After a moment of silence, a sturdy hand was placed on his shoulder, Dream looked up at the other “y-yes?” He was pushed off, and onto the ground. Swap stood menacely above him, though didn’t make a move to do anything. “I’m leaving by dawn.” He turned around, and went back to packing.

“Swap!...” “no” Dream felt regret and fear “I-... im sorry” Swap barely looked behind himself “leave.”

Dream nodded, “I- uh… you’re always welcome back… my comrade!... stay safe…” He barely got a nod out of Swap, sighing, he stood up, turned and left.

Sitting on his bed, everything was already packed up into reasonable storage that he could carry. He looked down at the crystal the enemy gave him last time they were in battle. Was this a good idea? He couldn’t tell… but it was one of his last options… with a deep breath, he smashed the crystal on the ground. Teal and purple smoke rising out of it and filling the air. He coughed, the smoke blinding him and making it hard to breathe. It felt suffocating, like he was weakened in battle and drugged. Coughing again a deep and steady voice came from in front of him, as a large shadow carried over Swap’s form.

He looked up at the figure infront of him, and fell to his knees from the suffocating feeling… it filled his non-exisent lungs as he felt a large amount of fear and regret. “Greetings, you must be Swap, yes?” he nodded as tears pricked his eyes “I had seen you in out last battle, and you seemed quite weakened. I am glad you have reached out to me”. The feeling of fear and regret lessened, but enough so that it was still nagging him. Swap shakily looked up at the figure in front of himself… Nightmare, known to be a cruel king and guardian of negativity… betraying his brother Dream to gain power and revenge. Killing thousands.

“Y-Yes… uh- hello… your uh… darkness?...” Swap chuckled nervously “I have a request to ask…” he shakily stood up, a bit surprised that he was taller than Nightmare. “And what is your request?” Nightmare said as his head tilted ever so slightly, “right- I wish for a place to stay for a few weeks. I am in need of temporary housing and food until I find a place to settle fully”. Nightmare hummed thoroughly to himself “and what would be in it for me?” Swap froze, shoot, he didnt think of this… “I uh… what… what do you need?”, “oh I need many things. I need Workers, labour, science, books, food, money..” Nightmare looks him dead in the sockets “...information…” looks away “but if you offer me work of any kind, it’ll only be for how long you’ll be there for”.

Swap swallowed… some of those seemed… dangerous. “What kind of work?...” “labour like cleaning, fixing things, cooking, medical care, shopping in places I cannot” “sounds… better than I expected from you” Nightmare only smiled sharply… creepy. “Yes well… im not that cruel” Swap eyed him suspiciously “uh huh…” “you could also give me information on the light kingdom” “no” “shame”. Swap weighed his options carefully “I can clean and fix things” “very well”. He was pulled behind Nightmare as a black swirly portal appeared “wha-” “AHHHH!”.

Swap was thrown into the portal once more, it felt like he was drowning… suffocating… like the walls were closing in on him. He panicked, he shouldn’t have trusted Nightmare! Stupid stupid stupid- “calm. It is safe” His body suddenly felt relaxed as his mind was put at ease. He opened his mouth to speak, but his mouth was covered “you’ll get goop in your eyes and mouth if you open them”. He nodded slowly “good”.

He popped out of the portal and onto the hard wood floor “ow…” there was a dark chuckle behind him “oops” he huffed slightly, but stood back up, brushing off his clothes.

“Hows about we show you to your new temporary room… we can talk more about your situation tomorrow, yes?” Swap nodded “ah- right!”. Nightmare nodded back and started walking through the halls. As Swap followed behind him. He couldn’t help but notice that the castle Dream preached was dark and evil… was actually quite cozy? The hall had a light yellow carpet, contrasting the hardwood floors and black brick walls. By every door was a potted plant with white and black pots. The lights cast a soft warm glow on everything. With labeled doors like "library” “office” and then the list of everyone’s names on the doors on the second floor hallway to the right. On the end was and empty door with no label. “This may be your room for the time being. Rest well, I shall see you tomorrow and we’ll discuss your job while you are here.” Swap stood straighter “right, right, uh, thank you Nightmare. I appreciate your help and patience. I’ll go unpack and rest now”.

Swap entered the door, and saw a decent looking guest room. He put his bags by the end of the bed, and started to organize his items on the shelves and in the drawers. Finally, after about an hour, he took off his armor, locked the door and window, and fell asleep.

Day 12: Gifts

This one is a bit different. Instead of ocs this these are from a My Little Pony au. Cause I can.

On the left is Peach Tea and on the right is Page Turner (She/Her for both)!

Page is one of the mane 6 or Butterfly 6 as they are called in this au.

Guys, don't give him any more information, as you can see, he's no different from our Nightmare, he's just as evil.
