Thinking about Cosmo and how his whole story is about growth, knowledge, loneliness, loss, the pros and cons of loyalty, discovering yourself, and acceptance/moving on to learn to find a new path in life. Cosmo having to accept the reality of his own past without the tint of canine naivete/loyalty colouring his thoughts. Cosmo coming to the realisation that he's alone, as a creature out in the cosmos and that he'll always be something other that doesn't fit in completely with humans or with his own canine brethren. Cosmo finding a new purpose for himself in his long life after drifting for so long. Cosmo learning how to embrace and navigate this new reality as something more than just a dog: learning to speak, to control his powers, to understand the world for what it really is. Cosmo a guiding star who wants to help other lost people because Cosmo was lost for a while himself too.
