WE DO. or at least, we have a couple famous unverified anecdotes. i've compiled some screenshots in this post - these quotes specifically are taken from a book i read last year, jonathan edwards to aaron burr jr - from the great awakening to democratic politics by susan geissler (unfortunately i have yet to add it to my drive otherwise i'd link it) - but most of them are retold in one way or another in many different burr bios. anyway, by all accounts, he was a handful. whether that was due to some innate need to cause mischief or the fact that he felt the need to rebel against his restrictive and potentially abusive upbringing is anyone's guess. my opinion is it's probably a little bit of both.

The Burr-Hamilton duel from 1804 reimagined as a contest between two high-powered New York elites. Facial likenesses derived from John Browere's life mask of Hamilton and Gilbert Stuart's portrait of Burr. Hamilton is dressed in Tom Ford and his red hair is styled a la Damien Lewis. Burr wears a beige Kiton wool suit and a Gordon Gekko style haircut. Both men are armed with Colt Pythons.
