5, 9, and 12, for the author asks ^^
The ask didn’t get eaten after all! HOMG these got so long, I hope that’s okay Dx Thanks for asking, Ellie~
5) character you were most surprised to end up writingI think it has to be Vilkas, because I didn’t exactly enjoy his interactions until a later point in game and because I swore myself off to celibacy before playing Skyrim, since my brother shoved all the male marriage candidates into my face and I was like, you know what, they’re hideous.
I always thought I would enjoy Farkas’ dialogues and personality more than Vilkas, and I still do, in some ways (he’s the one who was with you during the initiation rite, after all), but after some time, I think it became more apparent that Vilkas had a lot more turmoil, IN MY OPINION, than the rest of the Circle members. While Farkas does, it’s not as gnarly as Vilkas’ one, and after watching the ever odd Amorous Adventures - no, I don’t like the mod xD - there was that particular dialogue from him where he talked about a werewolf ripping his childhood sweetheart apart, and maybe that dialogue isn’t his, but I like seeing it there and it makes sense then that Vilkas would hate himself and the curse.
Also because if you install a mod, Vilkas has a horse named Vilks. I don’t know which mod.
9) what, if anything, do you do for inspiration?I listen to music, generally, especially those that have very haunting, lulling, soft tunes. As you pointed out, some of my fics have hushed tones, and I think this is especially prominent in those that only revolve around romance or human relations; Obi-Wan romance fics from me are these. And a lot of angst.
Shallou, Haux, Novo Amor and Jome are all some of the artists I listen to, though I don’t stick to only these.
I also just pen down any odd thoughts, emotions (yes, actual feels for people), original ideas, so I dabble. Looking through photographs is also a great way to be inspired, though the only two photographers I know are Iwakura Shiori and Hamada Hideaki. Pinterest sifts work better sometimes.
12) your weaknesses as an authorI’m actually really, really tempted to say everything, but that’s not a thoughtful answer.
One of it, I would say, is the fact that I have zero attachments to any of my fics, like, I enjoy writing it but I don’t mind if it rots. Writing a prolonged fic, a continuous one, like Memento Vivere, Memento Mori, is such a hassle for me because I don’t grow fond of it in a way that’s like, okay but if I never finish, I’m going to be disappointed. This is probably because I have already told the people I want to know about my fic what’s going to happen, because that’s just who I also am in real life most times and also because I enjoy writing moments more than I do a timeline.
I also am an impulse writer, AKA, a writer who goes in head on and has zero planning. When I mean zero, I really mean zero. I didn’t really know who the fuck Amelie was going to be, I didn’t know how it’ll play out, I just go in head on, and it might not be so obvious, but that’s only because Oblivion has a set plot line. When it boils down to it, there are only bits of flesh among bones. This leads to an innumerable amount of plot holes that force me to sit down and think about, and sometimes, when I have no possible explanation for it, I just hope my writing covers it up in some makeshift way, and pray that it works; really, trust me, I’m that bad.
I tend to taper in my writings. If any of you have seen my writing, I can go hours on descriptions alone, which might not be prominent in any of my longer fics, but is definitely more obvious in my one shots. Because I focus on only a singular topic there, I hammer the point in, but it most often is excessive, so it becomes repetition, which I don’t really enjoy because like, what’s the use then?
I can’t write different sentence structures for life, I have the worst writing skills when it comes down to action and I have this obsession with not having two of the same words in a paragraph, since my teacher told me it’s ‘bad to do that’. Speaking of paragraphs, they’re short and I don’t know when to end one.
