God but what do you think it feels like for Chuuya to touch Dazai. Can you imagine.
Can you imagine having a powerful, semi-godly force trapped in your mortal body, itching, pulsing under your skin, a pressure so overwhelming and powerful that it terrifies you to the very bone, that is constantly just out of reach whispering to you to see it loose, knowing that you could never because it could easily destroy you
And then you finally, finally, after coming in contact with one person, finally know peace. You touch skin and it just... Stops. The constant, overwhelming noise that you've grown as accustomed to as your own skin stops and you can hear your own thoughts, for once, feel your own heartbeat, your own breathing.
And at that point, does it really matter if that person betrays you? Does it matter if he's the enemy? Can you really stop yourself from going back to the only calm you've ever, ever been able to grasp?

Fandom propaganda I will not be falling for: Bungou Stray Dogs Edition
-Atsushi’s a bad main character/ Dazai should be the protagonist
First of all that is my BOY you’re taking about! Second of all it just tells me you fundamentally misunderstand this story, its plot, themes and Dazai’s role within it.
-Dazai’s bad with kids
The child that Dazai comforts in his entrance exam and his speech to Kyouka that made her want to live in the light would like to have a word with you.
-Kunikida doesn’t care about Dazai.
Just straight up factually incorrect I could write an essay on it and I probably have somewhere. Above all else though if Kunikida didn’t care about or trust Dazai as his partner, Dazai wouldn’t have ever joined the Agency (nor would the Agency even still be up and running.)
-Kunikida’s only trauma is from being a maths teacher
A) We didn’t even know about Kunikida’s past even him being a maths teacher was something he did part time while being with the Agency 2 years ago. B) Erases all the trauma and shit he does through on the regular. That he is always ready to sacrifice himsel for others (and has) and that’s a mentality he’s had long before canon events.
And you don’t think something might’ve caused that?? Not to mention that there’s no single character without a traumatic backstory in this series and you think he’s the exception?
-Atsushi was cannibalised/ Kunikida was SA’d in Dazais entrance exam/ Mori SA’d Dazai etc etc
Just straight up didn’t happen and I’m not saying people can’t have their head canons and stuff but people keep insisting these things are canon when they aren’t.
-Atsushi talks too much about his backstory
We know like a handful of things that actually happened in that place and Atsushi rarely ever talks about it unless he’s trying to relate to a situation. And frankly I want him to talk more about it because good lord man…
-Akutgawa only saved Atsushi on the boat because Dazai told him too
Yes Dazai is why Akutagawa was on the boat to be his eyes and ears but Akutagawa refused to do that until Dazai mentioned Atsushi. It is because of Atsushi and how much Akutagawa cares for his safety and well-being that he decided to follow Dazai’s orders.
His sacrifice only cements that because in making that choice to save Atsushi what Akutagawa did was not only die but cast aside any chance of victory and acknowledgment from Dazai. He showed that Atsushi’s life meant more to him than that. To make it all both Dazai is to to fundamentally misunderstand Atsushi and Akutagawa’s bond and erase Akutagawa’s autonomy and his development thus far, in this moment and in everything that comes after it.
-Dazai hates Ango
They have a complicated relationship to say the least but if Dazai truly despised Ango with every fiber of his being as people say he does, Ango would’ve died years ago. They truly were friends and at the end of the day Dazai trusts Ango with his life and those most precious to him.
-Fukuzawa is just as bad as Mori because he has also recruited teenagers into his organistion
I just disagree wholeheartedly because at his core the Agency exists to give shelter and work to those who have no where else to go. It is not an easy job yeah but it’s a position that every one of them willingly chose.
This is a universe where teenagers are expected to work because of all that were orphaned during the war. And aside from most of them having criminal records they are also gifted who we’re told find it very hard to get work.
Fukuzawa isn’t perfect but he’s tried so hard to give these kids a home and a future in a somewhat stable environment. Which again for most of them is not something they could have ever dreamed or attaining.
And to me that is not on the same level as being contracted to work for the actual mafia. The fact that Fukuzawa and Mori fell out over how to deal with Yosano shows how differently the two operate and view their subordinates.
-Kouyou is nothing but motherly and kind to Kyouka
Kouyou cares about Kyouka undoubtedly but their relationship is also complicated and I keep seeing that nuance erased. Let’s not forget that she was going to kill Atsushi in front of Kyouka to ensure that Kyouka never left her side again. Kouyou projects so hard onto that poor girl that she is sometimes incapable of seeing that they’re not the same person.
Also you know we’ve never seen Kouyou object or anything to Akutagawa’s treatment of Kyouka like that time he strapped a bomb on to her chest that had Atsushi not intervened Kyouka would’ve died.
But the Agency dared to take her away from her and that’s when Kouyou stepped in. Again, not saying she doesn’t care she clearly does but it’s not as clear cut as I often see it being shown.
