Here's a cool aesthetics tip that adds a different dimension with some functionality as well. This is a flagstone wall block and although I like to ensure they're level, you do have some wiggle room there due to the textured nature of the block. If you're landscapers like we are (i.e. not a hardscaper), we've found this to be one of the easiest blocks to manipulate and use as a bed border. • The functionality / aesthetics role is achieved by placing the blocks slightly below grade. No one likes to add more items they have to string trim around, so this allows the homeowner to hang the mower deck over the edge of the block. It also looks as if there is no edge from the road, but as you get closer, it comes into view providing a simple, yet different look to it. • Thank you to Dylan over at @dandrhardscapes for suggesting this block.
