Today is time to reflect. The picture of me on the left was about a month into my #crossfit journey. On the right is me throwing down in Pensacola at the #beachbrawl in front of a crowd of hundreds, two and a half years later. It may not seem like a huge transformation, but it is. From left to right represents a weight gain of 30 pounds. More than that, it represents learning to eat to perform. It represents thousands of hours of training and practice and preparation. It represents a completely transformed lifestyle. The guy on the left had no drive, no self esteem, and was miserable more often than not. The guy on the right is driven, obsessed even, with becoming the best me possible. One of these days I'll manage to get both sides of a barbell in the frame of a video. 😂 It seems strangely appropriate that I hit a long pursued goal lifting alone in a nearly empty gym on a Thursday night. We all have our wolf packs to run with but at the end of the day, the hunt is ours alone. We can chase it with everything we have or we can watch it run away without us. 200 pound power clean in the books, finally.
