Bugust 2025 (31/31) - Cozy Moment

It's the final day of Bugust!! I'm really proud of myself for sticking with this whole thing the whole way through, I've had problems before in the past with drawing but I think having a "goal" for each day helped me a ton with staying on track and not skirting my drawing responsibilities. It's crazy to go back to my first few Bugust entries and comparing them to later entries, and I can really tell that I've gotten much better since the first day. Had an absolutely amazing time this month, and while I don't think I'll be doing Bugtober (jury's still out on this one, i'll have to see whats up when it's actually October) I'm glad I caught this one on the 2nd and kept on going through. It's honestly supported my current Bug Fables brainworm and is most likely the reason I have currently gone out of my way to write about Bug Fables and animate their sprites. Gonna be real sad to not get home every day and spend an hour or two drawing, but that one quote about the present or whatever I got plans and shit.
Art-wise, easily my best work of all time. In a past entry I wanted to go for a sort of like over-exposed vibe (like this album cover) and while I wasn't able to do it that time, this time around I think I smashed it out of the park. This easily like, the CLEANEST lighting/highlight work I've done in my entire life holy shit. Super proud of the anatomy and poses on display as well, I think it's mainly due to me going out of my way to clean up my linework (something I usually just don't gaf about) as well as all the experience i've picked up. It's also the mish-mash of the two brush styles I've used for majority of Bugust, and I think the sketchiness of the paint brush in combination with the clean lines of the pixel brush I use came out super nice. Just everything about this artwork feels right to me and I'm really proud of myself that I also managed to do it in just above 2 hours (the standard, soon to be broken hopefully!). The art grind always continues but it's nice to stand on the ground i've been biking and see all the distance i've covered.
