so fucked up and hilarious what happened to giles in the (CANONICAL!!!) sequel comics
he watchers for faith for a while.
he supports buffy in her time of need.
he freaking dies when angel goes evil again (became an actual supervillain this time complete with a name and a mask) and kills him.
his soul then lives in angel's cool new nipple piercing for all of season 9 because angel felt reaaaally bad about killing him and needs his soul to help him undo it
he is resurrected by angel but angel fucks up and brings giles back as a prepubescent little boy (but still with all of his adult memories).
giles spends season 10 as a sexually frustrated twelve year old who everyone inexplicably still wants to be their dad
he goes to high school and has a whirlwind romance with a teenage (but actually much older than him) vampire. who was soulless iirc but like really chill. she was too cool for him tbh
then season 12 happens but idk what he did in that one bc i blocked it out
these comics are so unbelievably stupid but i love them for it. so anytime you feel frustrated with the writing on the show just remember how much worse it could be
