"I just, uh, I've been trying to figure some stuff about myself out recently, after Tommy—" Buck clears his throat. "H—Have you ever thought about kissing me?" and Bobby nearly chops a thumb off. Yes. Too often in fact.

It starts small. Buck told Bobby to ask if he needed help, and Bobby asks. After a rough call. When he's lonely and wants someone to talk to. On bad nights when he misses his kids.
Buck always answers, because Bobby is his captain and his friend and maybe a dad figure and yeah, maybe Bobby should ask someone else for help but Buck is there and he doesn't have any other responsibilities, no kids or extra paperwork so why not? And it means Bobby's paying attention, it means Bobby trusts him, that Buck is valuable and useful and please keep calling, please talk to me, please tell me everything.
And Bobby knows it should stop, he shouldn't depend on his probie for emotional support, but Buck is so easy to talk to and easy to love and so eager to please and desperate for connection and Bobby's broken, they're both so broken, and maybe they can fix each other.
And yeah, Buck knows it's wrong when his captain kisses him. He knows it's wrong when Bobby asks, in that broken voice, for a little extra comfort. He knows that just having sex isn't the same as real intimacy, but it's what he knows how to do, it's what he's good at, it's all he has to offer, so he gives and gives and gives, but it still feels like he's taking anyway so it must be okay, it has to be okay because Buck feels good having sex with Bobby.
(He doesn't feel good after but that's normal, right?)
Bobby feels better, he does, and Buck is still easy to talk to (while they fuck) and so easy to hold after, and he needs Buck, wants Buck to stay safe, wants Buck with him forever, because if he doesn't have Buck, if anything happens, Bobby won't survive it, he can't stand any other thoughts. And he feels good when they're together, Buck is so compliant, says yes so brightly every time, so that means Buck must need it too, Buck needs Bobby to keep him safe, Buck should stay safe, Buck should be Bobby's fulltime housewife.
And Buck can't say no, can't pull away, because Bobby needs him and being needed is the same as being loved, right?
