Honestly I think Bucchigiri would be a lot better if it was from anybody but Arajin's prospective tbh, his character type only works as a side character with little screen time or if it's well written I fear 💔💔💔

Rewriting Bucchigiri is honestly the only proper path. The only real upsetting part to me is the MC. He genuinely gains no backbone until the last few moments.

Usually I don't mind a well written coward or loser character, we've had good examples in the past some of which include: Nirei from Windbreaker (my babyyy), Ryota Suzui (only on the gambling aspect), Zenitsu, my goat Takemichi, and arguably enough within the same anime Hagure who can't fight but doesn't still stands by his boys

I think one of the more upsetting parts of Arajin's character isn't just his absurd obsession with losing his v card, it's also his creepy borderline obsession with Mahoro (who already pisses me off).

If I have to rewrite it the first thing I am fixing is his approach to most things considered. At the beginning he wanted a girlfriend (the entire wish to lose his v card came when he met Senya)

If you ask me! He could've wished for a girlfriend!

So part 1! Make an oc that would be his girlfriend but don't outright write her out to be a one off romance plot!

No need to make her one of the gang leaders' siblings, make her an individual character.

For example a new student who arrived the same year as Arajin. She could be a fan of gangster culture and to impress her arajin would want to become the strongest. As they exchange more and more the girl (oc) catches on pretty quick that he's just a coward and has no real interest but by then make it so that Arajin has grown either fond or envious of those gang leaders for their courage and relates to the lower level gangsters most due to how weak they are as well. Have him make 1 friend, before he runs into Matakara then the rest of the story can unfold.

See how the incestuous plot wasn't needed? See how it leaves room for depth on both main characters? See how we preserve Arajins cowardly nature but allow him to have redeeming qualities?
