태형이형, 군생활 동안 고마운 일들이 너무 많았는데 말로 다하지 못하고 나와서 이렇게나마 내 진심을 전해.

Taehyung hyung, there were so many things I’m grateful for during our military service that I couldn’t fully express in words, so I’m taking this opportunity to share my sincere feelings

어깨와 허벅지 등 몸이 전체적으로 안 좋은데도 사격에서 만발 사수로 1등, 겨울 시가지 훈련·사격 1등, 부상 투혼으로 군사경찰 모범상까지 받은 모습 보면서 진짜 자극 많이 받았어.

Even though your shoulders and thighs were all in poor condition, you still took first place in shooting with every shot hitting the target, first place in the winter urban-combat shooting, and even earned the Military Police Exemplary Award through your fighting spirit despite your injuries—I was truly inspired by all that.

그리고 형이랑 같이 보는 마지막 체력측정에서 같이 3km 달리기 할 때 어떻게든 특급 만드려고, 서로 끌어주고 화이팅 해서 특급 기준보다 훨씬 일찍 들어왔을 때 완전 낭만 있었고, 기억에 많이 남는 것 같아.

And at our final fitness test together—when we ran the 3 km—both of us pushed each other and cheered to somehow earn the ‘top-grade’ mark. When we finished far ahead of the top-grade cutoff, it felt so romantic and has stayed with me ever since.

그리고 비 오나 눈 오나 성현이랑 운동하러 갔던 시간, 형이 기부해준 기구 덕분에 더 좋은 환경에서 운동하며 땀 흘렸던 것도 다 소중한 추억이야.

And whether it rained or snowed, the times we went to work out with Sunghyun—and how you donated equipment so we could train in a better setting and sweat it out—are all precious memories.

또, 외출·외박 나갈 때 PX가면 맛있는 음식 많이 사줬던 것도 너무너무 고마웠어.특히 형이 사준 장어 초밥은 아직도 잊을 수 없어.진짜 맛있었는데…

Also, whenever we went on leave or pass and hit the PX, I’m so, so grateful for all the delicious foods you bought.Especially, I still can’t forget the eel sushi you bought me.It was really delicious…

무엇보다 형이 보여준 꾸준함과 열정 덕분에 내 재활치료사라는 꿈을 더 단단히 다지고 군생활 내내 운동과 공부 모두 포기하지 않고 노력할 수 있었어.

Above all, thanks to your consistency and passion, I was able to solidify my dream of becoming a rehabilitation therapist and to keep working hard at both exercise and studies throughout my service.

전역하고 나서도 빨리 꿈을 향해 달려가야겠다는 열정이 더 생겼어.형 덕분에 군생활이 더 즐거웠어.나도 형처럼 꾸준히, 포기하지 않고 살아갈게.형도 늘 건강해!

Even after discharge, I feel an even stronger drive to quickly pursue my dream. Because of you, military life was much more enjoyable. I too will live with the same consistency and perseverance as you. And please always stay healthy too, hyung!
