What I love about Akutagawa is that he’s purely driven by his own principles. People often mistake his confidence for empty talk, but it’s really just his absolute resolve. Look at the ship incident the Mafia ordered him to capture the tiger alive, but he didn't care; he did what he believed was right. He refuses to let orders or circumstances limit him.

​That’s exactly why Fukuchi tried to recruit him. The 'Hunting Dogs' are the elite of the elite they don’t just recruit anyone, and they even modify their members' bodies to push past human limits. Yet, even in the middle of a death match where Akutagawa was trying to kill him, Fukuchi was clearly impressed. He saw that rare, 'hardened' determination in Akutagawa the same way Jouno recognized Kunikida’s unwavering discipline.

​Akutagawa is the type who, once he makes a decision, sees it through to the end regardless of the consequences. He was fully prepared to fight, knowing their fate was sealed. Fukuchi saw that raw hunger and ironclad willpower qualities that perfectly suit the 'Hunting Dogs,' regardless of his own ulterior motives

Actually, when I mention their body modifications, I’m referring to how they undergo specific enhancements to surpass human limitations it’s a detail mentioned by the 'Hunting Dogs' themselves in the manga that many people tend to overlook. It makes me so proud of Akutagawa; even with an organization like that, where members are scientifically enhanced to be peak-level soldiers, they still had their eyes on him. They chose to recruit someone who is physically 'weaker' compared to them because they saw that his worth is far beyond just physical strength.

Every member brought something compelling to the story. But after Fukuchi's betrayal and the collapse of everything they stood for, I couldn't help wishing they had remained around a little longer.
