oh and another random YT recommendation that I listened to and liked, symphonic melodeath this time:
okayyyy week late concert report! posting it under the cut cuz it might be long lmao
first up was brymir!! they were very fun, kinda melodeath and had a kind of in flames vibe to them which automatically makes them top tier imo. their signer had two fish plushies and kept throwing them around the stage and smacking his bandmates with them, and i promise that made sense as well as just being funny 😂😂 their song topics ranged from video games, love, death, and fish and they really didn’t take themsleves too seriously, so they were super good fun
next up were serenity! they’re a sort of symphonic power metal band, very bombastic, kind of like if you put battle beast and brymir in a blender. their singer climbed down off the stage to climb on the barricade step and then realised he couldn’t get back on stage without help, and kept making jokes about us lending him our hair to headbang 😂😂 and they finished their set with two songs about english history because they’re nerds and it was also a great time
and finally, the band, the myth, the legends: battle beast!
they started off with circus of doom, which is such a way to start a show! the pyro and the smoke, and their performance was flawless! i spent a whole time singing along and lost my voice a bit by the end, but i don’t mind one bit it was so much fun!! noora’s a powerhouse of a vocalist, but eero can really sing too, as he proved when he led us all in a rendition of can you feel the love tonight 😂😂 they were super lovely and chatty on stage with their banter to the point where if they hadn’t mentioned it you’d have thought atte was their full time guitarist and a bit later on they brought out janne’s ‘disco invader’ keyboard stand and spun it round whilst he played before pouring drinks for the crowd and themselves 😂😂😂 and yes noora made eero chug his drink and then looked scared because he gagged on it which was extremely funny
honestly the whole show was so seamless and idk how noora could sing like that day in day out and sound as good at the end as she does at the start so consistently
