Kyle Dean Massey is adorable (and Ciara Renée was fantastic). And the acrobatics were unbelievable-the woman stood on top of the man's head. On one foot. With the other leg high in the air. I don't understand how that is physically possible. 

A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder was hilarious. And the blocking is great.

Everyone started clapping the second that they heard the first notes of Falling Slowly from Once.

The little boy from Motown was really cute and talented.

Heathers was really good (especially since one of the Heathers also played Veronica in a different song, which was impressive).

Cinderella was adorable. 

Rock of Ages was really good-Carrie St. Louis acted so cute during the sound checks (the sound system sucked, by the way), and then the voice that came out her was just so intense.

WASHINGTON D.C. - Day 2

We woke up and got to Ford's Theatre early. There we toured the museum and viewed a dramatic presentation, "One Destiny," which depicted the story of Lincoln's assassination from Mr. Ford's perspective. Seeing the box where Lincoln was shot and being in the actual theatre visualizing the events was powerful.

We decided to break for lunch before touring the Petersen House and Center for Education and Leadership. Peter joined us for lunch - we went to Good Stuff and We the Pizza. OH. MY. GOODNESS. I got a burger, fries, and shake from Good Stuff. I'm such a foodie - as you can see by the fact I take pictures of food. I had a cheeseburger with a fried egg on it and some special spicy sauce. The Vietnamese Coffee shake was to die for. If in D.C. you MUST eat at Good Stuff for sure! Elaine had We the Pizza and loved her food, too!

After lunch, Peter continued to study and the four of us meandered along Capitol Hill to Union Station. We took the metro back to the Ford's Theatre area and toured Petersen House. This is the building where Lincoln was carried and died the morning after he was shot. Being in the bedroom and seeing the actual bed where he died was completely surreal. It is no secret that history was never my favorite subject, but spending the day learning more about Lincoln and experiencing the surroundings of his last hours was moving. 

The Center for Education and Leadership was interesting, as it continued explaining different aspects and events surrounding Lincoln's presidency and assassination. We were tired, so decided to grab a healthy dinner (salads).
